This game was a perfect example of why virtually every opponent City plays sit in an extreme low block against them. Because Haaland will obliterate teams if actually given space in behind and matched up 1v1 against opposing center backs. So many people who have been criticizing Haaland this year haven’t realized opponents had been neutralizing him by giving him zero space in which to operate. And today was a perfect example of why opponents don’t actually try to play open back and forth matches with City.

Hope people took note of the explanation Pep game about why Haaland was really annoyed. 0:44 it was the ref and linesmen he was annoyed at, not Pep. Because he's a big guy, so many of the fouls on him aren't given and defenders know they can get away with it more. Especially the better defenders who are versed in the dark arts(Rudiger got away with it alot in the CL tie this year) but I suppose other big strikers have had to deal with the same. He could learn how to outsmart them or failing that learn some of the dark arts himself and beat them at their own game(Kane is a good example of striker that knows that side of the game well).
