Game does indeed change depending on who's alive or dead. Sometimes a smaller differences, sometimes big and impactful ones. Glad you're back at it again! Once you're done with your playthrough you can replay it with different cast/way you play or maybe play Your Time To Shine. Especially if you like or want to know more about Mishima or Kai.
