October forty-one. German troops are advancing on Kalinin (now Tver) in order to capture it and open a direct route to Moscow. There are only two thousand people defending the city without tanks and artillery. The only hope to delay the enemy is the echelons of the Fifth Infantry Division, which are about to pass through the Kalinin station. But the saboteurs intend to do everything to prevent this from happening. The head of the Kalinin garrison, struggling to maintain order and calm in the city, himself falls under suspicion of involvement in an enemy sabotage group.

Spacibe from France for another lesson of script writing and acting. Now if a fellow Russian or ex-USSR citizen passes by: Why do almost all mother Russia's sons and daughters *not get down when bombed like hell* , and why do they *charge out of their (hard built) trenches* 200 meters in front of as many tanks heavy machine guns they can find in all these otherwise great TV shows? please why?
