That is one hell of a spark plug. 👀 I'm wondering if someone was using it for a fishing weight. I know when I was younger we would do that especially if we didn't have any money except for beer and gas to get to the fishing hole on the river. You would need big heavy weights to fight the current and we couldn't afford to buy a big lead weights at the fishing shop and we do things like over spark plugs. 👍🏻 Especially if it was an area where it was known that you would get hung up and have to break your line sometimes to get loose.

Very much enjoy watching what you do, and how you describe it. I'm up in Vancouver, BC, and the nearby rivers and creeks are in steep, narrow ravines, which, for a novice like me, makes reading them to know where the gold is dropping out really difficult. I'm persevering nevertheless. I'm curious if most of the rivers you're visiting are on BLM land. If so, it seems that California has been very generous in setting aside productive areas for public use. A lot of the good rivers here are snatched up with claims. Thanks.
@TwoToes Жыл бұрын
One of the great things about California is the public land. 46% is federal land.

I do know I don’t want anything below that I’m pretty sure the garret isnt going to work just by looking at the price tag tells me what I need know 50-70.00 I don’t think it’s made to detect fine gold be better off buying a old whites witch I have but I recieved a dud it don’t work correctly .

Hi
@CMRadefeld Жыл бұрын
I've been watching your videos about 6 months. Recently retired, I'm prospecting a bit. I'm in Gold Run area and according to BLM mining claims map every sq inch has, either open, closed, or forfeited claims. I'm on BLM and NfS land so private property is not an issue. The issue is there are no stakes showing boundaries of even open claims. How can I know if I am ""claim jumping" if nothing is staked? Also, I recently found a tunnel mine that shows closed claim and the entrance had been sealed with loose rock. I accidently found it by sampling the area which had wind coming out of a shallow hole I made in the rock covering the entrance. Advice appreciated.

In my opinion metal detecting for gold is waste of time. (Unless you are in some amazing place where large gold can be found on the surface) Sure, you can find some gold flakes or even a nugget here and there IF the ground is good. But 99.99% of the time you find garbage, lead shot and iron nails. In most places around the world the gold is very small. Extraction is possible only with water and traditional methods. Pan, sluice, highbanker....

Any golds better than no gold especially when the wind wont blow it away, and that tree root proably was holding a lot of gold aswell trees proably 35 years or more old
