I’ve been a heavy duty mechanic for about 40 years, still get called to work on the Cummins Engines as well as rest of machinery and trucks. Over the years I’ve seen so many hoses tied up with Zip ties, most have one thing in common, there is no insulation between the hose and the frame etc. I always take apiece of rad hose or heater hose about 3 inches long slit It lengthwise and wrap it around the hose then tying with a zip tie. The only time I don’t is when I use a body clamp lined with rubber, bad thing is you need to bolt it onto something. Thy vibrations especially on a hydraulic hose cause the hose to wear and fail. Worst case I saw was a heater hose rubbed through and lost coolant in 30 below zero temp. This example made me super fussy on routing and securing hoses. Love your videos look forward to new ones. Keep safe

Kind of amazed tonight to come home and turn on your video and see it is about a pto shaft on a grain cart. The reason I say this is a farmer who was cutting beans not to far from us was killed tonight. He some how got caught in the pto shaft on a grain cart. I know how complacent we can get in our everyday running on the farm. But please please take the time to be aware of what is happening around you and take that extra little time to be safe. The harvest will always be there tomorrow. He was 41 years old and leaves behind a wife and little kids along with his brother who he farmed with.

I worked as a mechanic for 25 years at a geothermal power company in California. We had hydraulic hoses that went bad too. Wrenches would round off the fittings so I would cut them with a hacksaw. After seeing your suggestion on using the air chisel I say that is a great way to get them apart.

Momma said there would be days... Shxt happens.....BECAUSE YOU LET IT.....just kidding....we almost punched a drive shaft threw a gear box on a 3 point fert spreader because the tractor 3 pt lifted really high. I was turf farmer ...ran a lawn care company for 25 year.... farmed hundreds of acres of turf all over place. Yes fertilizer is very corrosive. We washed the equipment everyday it went out....I'm with Dougo self inflected accidents....it's a new piece and hopefully the grain cart people will treat you good....when you are a pioneer you better be ready to take some arrows in the back.... We live in the greatest country in world !!!

Well young man you have accidentally stumbled on the secret to a great landscape photo. All great landscape photos were shot at sunrise or sunset. You may want to change your habits a little to get some more great shots of the farm and farm equipment. One of the best pieces of photographic wisdom I learned is that if you see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, turn your back on it because it's putting some wonderful light on something that in ordinary daylight would look mundane. Sunrise is my favorite time to take photographs. The light is warm, crisp, and sharp.

Loved the post but boy I am sorry that happened with that big daddy graincart.......equipment is great until a boo boo hits.......don't ask how I know! LOL We've had stuff like that happen and of course it's always at the worst possible time.......when there is a window of time to do what you need done! Knowing you will get it right and take care of it. Love it that Dougo takes most of it with a grain of salt after the shock wears off.......but dang that was a darn shame! Waiting to see the new machine disc up that earth and grind it up and turn it over. Best of luck and hope tomorrow is a better day!
