The reality is most Americans have not met their retirement goals. Here are some findings from a recent Fidelity Investments Retirement Mindset Study which surveyed adults of all ages, both male and female. Eighty-two percent of the general population don’t have a retirement plan in place.
It’s not as if Americans aren’t worried about retirement. They are. Seventy-five percent feel only somewhat confident to not confident at all about their retirement finances.
What worries people the most about retirement? Economic concerns that can’t be predicted and are out of their control. The next big unpredictable area of concern is Social Security benefits. The third is inflation.
Needless to say, the biggest personal worry is outliving their assets.
We want to change this dynamic starting right now. And we have the right guest to help us. Kim Lankford is an award-winning personal finance journalist, now working freelance. She was a long time contributing editor and columnist for Kiplinger’s. One of the first steps she recommends to plan for retirement or manage it is to understand our monthly cash flows.

Only took 6 minutes to get to the immediate annuity hmmmm. Even SPIA are a dubious choice at best. The fees and the rate of return don't usually make sense for anyone. Giving away a chunk of money and getting a fixed monthly payment sounds great but it is just an insurance product that is guessing how long you will live and giving you a little less than the insurance company can make on the money you give them. You have so many better options that don't forfeit a huge chunk of money up front. If you have a few hundred thousand to play around with than sure get an annuity but if the annuity is taking more than 25% of your portfolio that is a pretty large chunk to remove from your access.

I'm glad I purchased an annuity. It provides benefits that my stocks and bonds don't provide.

Hi Consuelo can you do another of these for 2021? We are at a pivot point imho, the dementia epidemic is real and many are losing all assets to pay for marginal care. ty :)

The best way to retire is knowing you have a stable source that helps you generate passive income even after retirement. I have placed a few investments on precious metals and forex. Currently thinking about diving into real estate.

Oh OK there are different ways to this for me, my investment consultant handles all my trading affairs down to basic risks. To cut it short, an average return of 180% to 300% weekly on Gold investment we make and nearly 400% on forex trades.

This lady's name was all over the place earlier this year about how she made over 800k from mutual funds. An investment with a company like hers right now would be ground breaking for me.

Most people won't know it but with everything that's happened within this year. A retirement plan is vital for everyone trading forex wasn't on my list but after I looked up Kyle Holt Karens, I had a change of mind and would like to participate in this.

Great interview, she did sound a lot like an annuity salesman. Could you interview someone familiar with the infinite banking system, using whole life cash value as income in later years. There are many positive aspects your viewers may be interested in. Thanks for your time and expertise.

I have an interest too in the infinite bank system as well as the new and improved system called MPI.

Totally agree, annuities suck for most people. Just a big “risk pool” and then they eat you for lunch with fees

I hate the word guarantee income.. Remember 2008, and the bail out of AIG. It sounds like they were passing out paper with no asset behind it. The only thing guaranteed in life in Death and Taxes. Save your money and read about investments. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
