The moment the ore starts melting the quality goes down, so if you dont remove it from the furnace quickly it will be worthless. The lathe doesnt improve the sale price, but the hilt decoration before you assemble does. You can get ore for free from the mine, the mine is to the left outside your shop, there is a sell price when you design the weapon so you can see how much its worth. Merry Christmas

Drae, you need to pay attention to the parts themselves that you attach. each blade piece has its own individual cut/pierce modifier. by adding some of the jagged blade edges, you could easily get the >= 20 cut rate. you just needed a different blade other than the perfectly straight pieces, and as you saw in the editor for the blade after all the pieces where you move/bend it. you can give the blade a curve to further spike its cut rate even higher at the cost of pierce. just pay attention you don't go too far and get the negative penalty from moving its blade body tooo far. stats always actively update before confirming the blade for craft (pay attention to top left corner where pierce, cut, and smash rate are after every little change). you can guarantee it'll be >20 before even starting to work out best ore for the blade and best wood for the handle. To see the stats, make the blade itself first then add handles after as a 2nd part. the handles will modify your cut/pierce rate (bigger handle = better pierce) on top of type of material as i'd already mentioned will drastically affect the stats too. Lastly the customers requirement of a certain amount of pierce,slash, or smash IS the amount you see on the stats. its just differently worded to say damage instead of rate Completely separate note: your alloy's being 0% when crafted, some alloys have a specific recipe to follow! as one ore has a higher cook temp than another which degrades the quality! your shops have one that sells books that has info on alloys and their temperatures, so to really get into alloy making you need that
@averagecapybaraenjoyer1Күн бұрын

If you pour it and then cool it off in the trough you can remelt and use whats left. 2nd it's absolutely worth going to the mine and finding ores. The reason your ore quality keeps getting low is because they have a right melting temperature, you can look them up on the book. Also to make alloy there is a right way, otherwise they turn to 0%, you can find the right metod by buying a book about alloys on the city

one thing I learned from a book in the game is how the pob affects the price/cut rate. If the pob is near the handle like a rapier or dagger the pirce rate goes up. If the pob is closer to the top of the blade like and axe or heavy it has better cutting rate.

You can mine ore for free outside of town, also the quality of the ore drops the longer it is hot so if you drop the melting bucket in the trough and cool it you can re heat it later for use, the leather and other handles wraps are a one time purchase to unlock it is not a consumable so the price is not as bad as it seems and adds to the price of the blade

I also pour a few blades and other necessities while the pot if full. Also Pour Blade only, drop next to mould and keep pouring more blades as you can't over heat the ore on reheating the blade. Oh, you can also afford a lathe and quenching barrel at the begging and your weapons are worth more if you do... Edit: Oh it says the "Cut and Piece" damage on the left panel, Not the "percentage" Cut and Piece" damage in the Blueprint... Also there's a percentage when Ore begins degrading as it starts melting and when you make Blueprints and use different ingredients Love your vids Drae.

look in the book about ore quality the main reason your blades are considered junk is not due to your ore it is mainly about how you smelt the ore. In the book there is a table of all the ore's melting temp you wanna keep it in that range or the material rates will drop like crazy. Dont keep the furnace on at 2000 you only need high temps like that for certain metals.

Also, check the mine bro you can get free gold from mining and make some real money with gold weapons!!

@2:22 you can see that there is still RAI ore in the bucket. You just let the temp get too low and the ore re-hardened
@Kaibiin7 сағат бұрын
READ THE BOOK! It has charts for not only for weapon types but also MELTING POINTS OF ORE! So your reason for ruining your raw ore is that you are simply RUNNING THE FORGE TOO HIGH for the metals you are smelting down to pour into the mold so try to never go over 50 or so degrees over the required temp or else you'll run into problems with ore quality degrading quickly. Also you can see the "Damage" on the breakdown of the weapon on the left hand side of the planner, it's just called "Cut Rate" "Pierce Rate" and "Bash Rate". Another fun thing you can do is mix-n'-match components like a iron blade with a copper guard and pommel. You can also make a backlog of components as the kids will put things away (Except full Weapons), Handles back in the wood piles, Guards and Pommels in the chest, and Blade/Heavy Weapon parts on the small crate across from the chest. The only thing they really trash if left on the ground is fully made and put together weapons. You can also go left after you leave the shop to find the gate to the pass where you can go out mining to get your own ore and coal.

Hey Drae: going to mine your own coal and ore makes everything so much easier. It got me a lathe before I got my first special request. You don't have to have the furnace constantly burning at 2000 and wasting all your fuel.
@bafon8675 сағат бұрын
Do check out the smelting degrees in the book, as a metal that is way above that point will deteriorate at a fast pace once melted. Do check out the mine to the left when you exit the forge, there are two guards at a gate there, it leads to an area that can be mined for free. The magic bottles seem expensive, however they are a 'one-time' purchase, you only need to pay once. Same with the leather merchant, you buy a type of leather for coating the handle at the assembly station. Good luck and happy smithing.

Hey Drae, 2 reasons your alloy quality is low: 1 - Your furnace is too hot! You run at 2000*C but most your ores have a melting point around 1k-1.6k, so if you run at 2k it falls super fast. 2 - The ores you combine have different melting points, EG. Copper is lower than Kanka (iirc), so while you are waiting for the kanka to melt the copper degrades to 0, meaning when they combine youre starting at ~50% at best... Combine this with the first issue and you can see why youre hitting 0 quick!
@Salty_SailorКүн бұрын
You're overcooking your Ore. There is a specific temperature it needs to be at which is why your alloys degrade so quickly. Read your book to see the temp. If you burn your ore, it becomes junk. You kinda realized this earlier. Don't just go ham on the bellows.

Please Upvote this so Drae can see this. I just bought the game and played it for all of The past few days before christmas, I got to around the same area he's in this video. What i found i will simplify, Going Over the melting point of a specific metal Makes the Quality go down EXTREMELY fast, however As soon as you get to the melting point it almost immediately liquidates, making it pourable right after it gets to that point, staying on top of temp's really help for the Overall sell price and quality. Coal is basically free in this game, going to the Mine (The Path directly left of the Front exit of the shop) There is three rock clusters right outside, mining these will give you 200 coal each which you can put in the cart chest to take home, and they seem to respawn every day, best to grab them at night so noone can steal from you or be pissy about not being able to buy anything, On the topmost layer of the mine is Copper and savarda(?) ore, on the bottommost layer is Karda(?) and Gold Ore, seemingly thats all you can mine right now, your cart fills up at around 20 ores and 600 coal, which if you do everynight can rack up fast cash mitigation, The Spear Quest Is BS To be able to get to consistent cut Damage of 60 You need high quality ores, special perks and perfect smithing skills to even break 45. Its good he didn't accept it, Also the Lathe can only take 25cm of wood to carve, and spears can't be Curved they can only have straight handles. So You could only make a spear with raw wood (Minimum of 120 CM Handle), oh and don't forget to toss the bucket in the water trough to save the quality if you mess up the heat

I don’t even think the lathed parts affect price or quality. Though all he has to do is remove parts from the mold, then he can do a second pour with the rest of the metal. I actually got 7 yuhidra dagger blades from 1 bucket of metal. Then I make the pommel and guard out of copper and the value is still really high as the bulk of the value comes out of the blade. Mixed melts destroy quality. You must put new or into an empty bucket. For the love of god, dunk empty bucket in water to reset temp so you can accurately monitor temperature. You can also stockpile components. Ingots, blades, pommels, guards, cut pieces of wood, and handles do not get thrown out over night.

There is a skill at the bottom of the blacksmithing line of skills that will show you a little icon on the left of your screen when ore is at melting point so you always get that high 90s for ore quality. DO NOT get the auto hammer skill it is border line useless.

This has been such a great advertising for the game I've actually bought the game thinking "This can't be that hard". It isn't. Drae, please, for the love of God, read the comments.

lathe doesnt effect the sell rate all stats of the item are at the left of the screen (including the sell price of a 50% item) in the design menu the cut rate they talk about is a combined effect of stuff like the ore, shape, wood, weight, and overall quality of the item

Sell value 385, Drae has it marked for 502. Yeah, no wonder you can't sell them quickly. You're charging 30% more than the estimated value of that item alone....
