I heard this moc mainly concentrated on resolving issues through diagnosis then straight to parts replacement. A weapons tech told me this back in the day.I get the CAF is bound to the process. Younger generations are focused on this modular approach. A great peacetime training plan, but it is not gunsmithing in the classic traditions. I suspect they don't learn a lot of machining if at all. By the way, the CAF killed that moc (machinist) around 1985 as I recall.

and many other moc as well with lack of training and now they are only seeing the issues now when it is too late and will take a full rebuild to get the moc back. But they aren't worried about refresher training for those that received the poor training methods and still expect those to just do it and learn on their own all the time even without any training with a major aspect of the gear.

@@flamedphoenix84One trade the Army got somewhat correct was Mat Tech. I think someone realized the Army's junk hardware was going to need weathershields, & someone was going to need to weld vehicular and various and sundry junk back together. I am surprised the defence manufacturer's syndicate didn't have that moc torpedoed.

@ I’m encouraging them. Even I know the army vehicles are not maintained. But the journey of a thousand miles starts with a step. They will get there.

@@daisyveronique3439 No that started a long time ago with the Liberals. They had it as low as 0.7%... Conservatives had been steadily, conservatively raising military spending. Issue is, Harper had to deal with the 2007 Financial crisis. Trudeau's father was the one who de-funded the entire Military, destroyed the Navy, fired the top Admiral, then amalgamated the 3 branches into the "Canadian Armed Forces" to save money..

Is there a disparity in the valuation of Canadian lives based on racial characteristics, with black and brown individuals potentially being perceived as more valuable than those with white skin? Do you think 99% white people working in thr Canadian national forces doesnt impact diversity and representation within Canada's National Armed Forces and Air Forces? Do you think Canadians of white skin should give their lives up to serve grandchildren and protect Canada because their lives are less valuable compared to Canadians of brown or black skin?
