If you wrap a small piece of foil over the top of the stem, you can easily fill the basket with grounds without them getting in the stem. I’m convinced percs make the best diner style coffee, way better than drip.

Agreed, perc’d coffee IS way better than drip, my favorite way to brew it!! Next I guess would be French press..either way, Xeta has the right idea, fresh ground beans!!

Beautiful coffee pot. I love stovetop coffee makers. I have a a couple of perculators but my favorite is stove top. Nothing like a pot of hot Joe! Happy weekend Xeta.

Happy weekend debbie! There's nothing like the smell of percolator coffee filling up the room!

Cute little percolator. 4 cups is perfect for singles and couples. I can see what you mean by the handle design. It looks cool and angular but now I can see why it would burn. Be careful Xeta!

Hey Tucker! Agreed! I love 4 cup sized percolators! Yeah, someone on ebay is selling brand new vintage handles for the 4 cups. I'm very tempted just so I have it... decisions, decisions! OY!

It's funny that you would review this pot today. Just last night I watched, "The Naked City" (movie 1948) free on KZbin. At 6:57 Barry Fitzgerald is in his kitchen, and there on the stove is your coffee pot. So the model you have is at least that old. Thanks for your videos they are informative with a witty sense of humor.

I'm so grateful, beyond words to the musicians who offer up their music. Some of my favorites are by Scott Buckley. Just amazing work!

Kool pot! When I saw it I thought you would use an aluminum plate to protect it from the heat.
@xetaprime29 күн бұрын
I usually use the aluminum disc when the perc is smaller than the burner. This was so close I decided not to use it... But I did think about it! :)

GOD, but this brings back childhood memories! Even the Osterizer blender, which is what she used all the time. The internals of that percolator are exactly like what my mother used to make coffee every morning. The external was more of a cylindrical shape, though. Back then, before we knew about freshly-ground beans, etc, she scooped using the little plastic scoop from the Stewart's Coffee tin and brewed the pot. Only my mother and father drank coffee back then (I was way too little). My father took it black; my mother's was obliterated with milk and sugar. Can I get an "Oy vey!" from the congregation?

Funny, I know my Father drank it black, not sure about my Mother. My most vivid memory is Dad teaching me how to make them instant coffee! Memories I tell ya!
