I fucking know right, like goddamn. He just wanted to feel like someone cared about him, it didn't even need to be in a love (relationship) way.
@corinacretu57105 жыл бұрын
The only reason why he even imagined that relationship to begin with was because he needed to feel some sense of normalcy. For once in the elevator he met someone that didn't instantly assumed the worst of him, for once he wasn't yelled at or looked in disgust rather he met someone that showed sympathy(her making the hand gun gesture). Too bad the world screwed him up so much that he had those hallucinations of that woman throughout the movie.

So much about this movie is about sexual frustration. After his first killing he imagines having sex with his female neighbour, whom he only had one small interaction with. Then he imagines a whole relationship with her. Every time another stand up comedian is preforming, it's always about sex. On Arthur's appearance on the Murrey show is a doctor on sexual problems, whom arthur says he "loves", and kisses longly before performing his most passionate act of violence ever. Sexual frustration and violence go hand in hand. Almost every serial killer ever had sexual problems. (FYI I absolutely loved the movie I'm no hater)
@Gravity-qi3tp5 жыл бұрын
I actually interpreted the whole "imagining a relationship" thing to be more about showing the audience just how delusional and isolated he is. When it is revealed that he imagined it all, it makes the audience realise that he is even more isolated than they thought, and it shows just how far gone he is mentally.

TallicaMan1986 “involuntary celibate.” Is the definition I’ve heard most widely used, and it doesn’t really fit joker at all since he isn’t motivated by his desire for sex. I don’t really know what you’re trying to say unless somehow every single person besides you just got the definition wrong
@TallicaMan19865 жыл бұрын
@@theworstcase4819 Hes definitely a virgin, but by his own design? Not sure, but he clearly wants a relationship and intimacy. He's either celibate or it's involuntary. And by his upbringing. I'm guessing it was involuntary. Doesnt mean he was a shit human for being an incel. Edit or I should rather say he wanted a relationship and intimacy, but since he became the Joker those desires for being "normal" were tossed aside.
@theworstcase48195 жыл бұрын
TallicaMan1986 but were those desires the core of the narrative? Not at all. He fantasizes about the Murray show as well, what he wants more than anything is to just be loved and accepted because neither his mother nor anyone else around him ever gave him that attention. He doesn’t do all the things he does because he never did the deed he does it because it makes him feel in control, which is why he’s genuinely more happy at the end than he is in the beginning.
@TallicaMan19865 жыл бұрын
@@theworstcase4819 It really doesn't matter if sex motivates you or not. Asexuals fall under Celibacy. That is by their own design. He wanted a normal life and part of that is Intimacy. This all hinges on whether he's had sex or not and was that by his own making or was it out of his control? Everything else really isn't a part of the discussion. It's simple. Have you had sex? If not then why? Are the only two questions in this. They'll determine what category people fall into when it comes to Virginity, Celibacy, or Incel.

I don't get this outrage and hate on incels. Yeah they're pretty delusional and they haven't gotten everything figured out, but people talk about them as if every single one is a literally causing a holocaust
@lookatthiscutekittyc29035 жыл бұрын
I think they are really scary (since I'm a woman). Before they were banned from Reddit I visited the incels page once. The first posts that I saw (I was looking through the most popular) were " Why don't we fuck the bodies of recently deceased women?", " Why can't I have sex with my mother or sister?" and "The government should distribute women, that way they can't choose chads over us"...I feel so sorry for them and at the same time, I am disgusted at them. How fucking damaged do you have to be to think things like that?
@angelgjr19995 жыл бұрын
Look at this cute kitty c: Those are just trolls. I promise a guy who is in his 20s and still a Virgin (likely because he has high and unrealistic standards) would NOT fuck a dead body. Real incels are men who were physically/mentally abused as a child and thus now lack any social skills.
@thestrongprevail30395 жыл бұрын
@@lookatthiscutekittyc2903 You're a moron, christ. You think a few bad apples makes up the majority of a group of people. An incel doesn't by default mean a sexist. It means someone who is involuntary celibate meaning that they can't get laid.
@thestrongprevail30395 жыл бұрын
@@lookatthiscutekittyc2903 I bet you think all virgins are potential mass murderers or something. You should get off social media for a bit.
@lookatthiscutekittyc29035 жыл бұрын
@@thestrongprevail3039 Yeah, I hate all virgins (and I suppose I hate myself too, considering the fact that I'm complete virgin too). Don't be fucking obtuse, when I say the word "incel" I don't mean any man that can't get laid, I mean the ones that specifically make a big part of their identity the fact that they are "incels" and that have strong feelings of entitlement over sex. It's obvious that most virgins are not creepy like the majority of the incel forum. I'm talking about the ones that are part of it. The ones that even though may not really be willing to fuck a corpse, think about it and believe that it's okay to share that with other people.

Sure, the finger gun is similar, but Joker is more like The King of Comedy: both are about mentally ill men who fabricate things in their minds that ultimately have a real-world effect, both go to extreme lengths throughout the movie, and the climax of both movies is a television appearance.
