So when Tuba shows up it seems to change not only those of us who love them but the overall atmosphere of the space they sound. I wish we could all do that.

One MORE time that Tuba Skinny's masterful performance has saved me from my own brain-boilin'-over mental-health "issues", as the medical "experts"(👀) call 'em... I'm indebted to y'all for LIFE, plus a couple of million yrs. afterwards. I know my folks are boogyin' up in "Heb'm" (Thanks to YOU TOO, Dizzy!!! Again!!!😁DANG, we miss you...), 'cause this was their music, & NObody plays it BETTER than y'all always do. & Nobody brings it to us better than you, James.💃👏🏻👏🏽👏🏿🎉 Many, MANY thanks to all... y'all stay SAFE out there!!!!!🌟🎶🎵🌟

Got to see them on Annapolis last month and was able to present a 70 year old , 45 rpm 3 ep set of Bix Biederbeck' s major works to Shaye during the break. The performance was flawless, and Robin was in rare form.

Many thanks, James. For anyone who likes to admire the nuts and bolts, here's what I think we find. Note that THEME C lends itself to 2-bar breaks on bars 1,2 9 and 10 (such as were played in the 1923 King Oliver recording); but it also lends itself to a more conventional 2-bar break on bars 7 and 8, (not done in the Oliver recording). Unusually, there are no key changes in this rag: 00:12 INTRODUCTION - 4 bars establishing the key as A flat 00:16 THEME A - 16 bars in A flat 00:36 THEME B -16 bars in A flat, very much on a repeated V - I chord pattern, with Barnabus taking the mini-breaks on some of the even-numbered bars 00:56 THEME B - Craig improvising over the 16 bars 01:15 THEME A - we're back to the first melody 01:35 BRIDGE - we proceed to the 4-bar link passage 01:40 THEME C - led by Barnabus on trombone, a new 16-bar theme still in A flat, starting with a curious 2-bar 'break', with another on bars 9 and 10 01:59 THEME C - Craig's turn 02:18 THEME C - ensemble, 16 bars 02:37 THEME C - featuring Max 02:56 THEME C - featuring Todd, and including a break on bars 7 and 8 03:15 THEME C - ensemble, with Robin taking a break on bars 7 and 8 03:34 THEME C - ensemble, with clarinet and cornet sharing the break at bars 9 and 10 at 03:44 (possibly the trickiest moment in the piece) 03:53 CODA - two bars

Another high energy performance by Shaye and the band. She gets back to her chair just in time. The audio is so crystal clear its hard to believe they are playing in the street. The way the sun is shining it looks like Max and Robin have gone ''blonde''........................

Love this group.!!! And re the ruckus in previous months where the "establishment" complained they impeded traffic flow on Royal St.. I see vehicles whizzing past the camera with NO PROBLEM AT ALL Im glad they're back. Possibly the threat of "a convoy" blocking New Orleans Streets was enuf to give the mayor pause about her decision to shut all the groups down. Whatever, Im glad they are back.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..

Had me before 10 notes were played. A great song by a great band. I suspect that Shaye had to teach all of the parts and put it all together. I have never heard such good playing on a good song by them before. Great audio and Video makes a big difference.
