Early war torpedoes and bad weather... always a difficult combination. I tend to set a rather shallow depth in these situations, no gaurentee of course, but it can help counter the effect of waves and faulty depth running on these early torpedoes. But, this episode is a good example of what actually often happens if you try to play more realistically. Great video, and looking forward to the next installment already!

It is quite the detriment on performance of the overall sub, though it is clear that this is even more expedited because of the lack of overall torpedos, it’s to bad the sub didn’t come with a proper deck gun. Though that most likely because the boats just to small. Honestly, it incredible what he’s been able to do with that he’s got.

Keep them videos coming, I see your finally using the method I use, you can get his course without being ahead of him using 3:15 method as well by taking having 3 markings so 9:45 and then draw a line straight through them.

Sometimes the game is stuck in recharging batteries even when they are at 100%. You can check by telling the Chief Engineer to recharge batteries, he will say it is at 100%. You can try using the Observation scope in bad weather. It has a larger vertical freedom, up to 90 degrees up. It can usually be set on the target more easily than anything else including binoculars. What was the range you fired? SH3 torpedoes have a 400 meters safety run and you were 400 meters from his track. If you didn't increase the distance, you will have a dud.

Wasn´t the safety range 300m? I´m not using the Observation periscope because it was not present on the Type IIA :)

Two ways, both require the attack disc: 1. Cross the ships course, and note the bearing. Then you will know exactly which way it is going 2. If you can‘t cross its course, estimate the AOB and once again use the attack disc to read of the ships course

When you put all 3 officers in the command room/on the bridge, is that for roleplay purposes or do you actually benefit from it? Because the green bar is already filled up with two officers.

If the Weapon officer slot is not filled, then I wouldn´t be able to use the attack disc for example. So it´s not just roleplay :)

Do you always use the speed you see on the map, 7.5 knots estimation, or do you do the maths: divide by seconds and multiply by 1852 meters ? Not an issue at 500 or so meters but could it be at longer ranges ? Specially with electric torpedoes as they are slower than T-1s ?

If I use the method described there, and if I have 3:15 Minutes to spare, then I´ll do it like it is shown in the video. If I don´t have 3:15, then a different method should be used.

This may be late, but why not call for a bearing, get bearing, start stop watch and the do the map setup? you have 3 minute an 15 seconds to do that. setting up map and the starting stop watch seems like a waste of time and accuracy to me.
