I have several BN cabooses in N Scale. A couple of mine I plated over the windows for conversion to a modern day shoving platform. As worn out, weathered and most have graffiti on them these days, it allows more projects in my future!

Great work as usual Dan.

Awesome. I’ll have to use these techniques on my CNW bay window cabooses in their later years as shoving platforms.

Nice work Dan. I have always loved the wide vision caboose as well.Denatured alcohol works really well for removing CA glue & residue. Just use lightly.

Amazing work Dan. Caboose/guards van weathering is always good fun. The open window is a great effect. - Nicholas.

Great job Dan, grew up in the 70’-80’s with these wide vision caboose on the Santa Fe here in SoCal. Love the BN colors too.

Nice video, Dan. Up to now I've been using brushed acrylic washes (using windshield washer fluid as the thinner) for fading, using a color slightly tinted up from the original. However, I'd like to try using my airbrush for this step as you do. What is the ratio of paint to thinner you use with craft paints? I might also use thinned VMA. And I'm guessing you are also using a lower air pressure for that thinned paint. What is it for your Paasche? Thanks and cheers from Wisconsin!

@@DansRailroad2011 well one popped up on eBay last week. It has no box, the top of one ladder is gone (they tried to fix it with ca) and the chimney is a little bent. But it was really cheap and wouldn’t last. I’ll let you have it if you do a video on it, no time pressure of course.

If you cannot see what you're doing, then why bother showing a video. I'd like to see what you're doing.
