That looks amazing. You make it look so easy, but I still struggle to achieve natural looking weathering.

Its just a bit of practice. Try it out on old, scrap wagons. I have a whole box of broken rolling stock!!

Love your work. It has given me the confidence to have a go at some of my older, more disposable rolling stock. Thank you.

Nice one, man. :) The moulded detail is really nice on those and your expert weathering really brings out the depth between those frames and panels. :)

Thank you. The detail on the dapols is quite nice and sharp. A wash or powder brings it out nicely

Hello there. Nice work, great video. My tip: I also use powders from scrubbed pastel chalks. Brings lots of nuance with a great variety of colours. I apply them with make-up applicator, the little sticks with small sponges at the ends the ladies use to put eye powder. My second tip: have your own, don't take Mrs. Bunters' ;-)

Great video and great affect. What lacquer do you use if you don’t mind me asking?
@BuntersYard3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The final layer coat is Vallejo Matt varnish. For intermediate lacquers (in-between paints) I'll use an enamel laqcuer such as humbrol, because it won't be affected by the thinners etc and your earlier work won't be damaged. I'll put some links in the description

Can I ask if you use oil paints , do you have to seal to stop it scratching off and how long would oil paints take to dry?
@BuntersYard3 жыл бұрын
You’d need to give the oils a day to dry properly. I’d always suggest a lacquer coat over any work as I’d give extra durability from handling
