Heavy snow is expected along the Gulf Coast and Southeast next week. An ice storm will also be possible for parts of Southern Georgia and Northern Florida. Some of the details will still change over the next day or two, especially with the exact placement of snow and ice, but the overall forecast supports a rare winter storm across the Gulf Coast and Southeast next week!

Hunter, You do a great job, but I wish you would point out to people who do not live in Southern California what is happening with the lack of precipitation here. We are in a terrible drought without rain for MONTHS. The rainy season is usually November through March. We are halfway through January with NO rain at all. Here in San Diego we have had no rain in ten months. LA is the same, which has contributed greatly to their fires.

All the models shifted this storm way south, do you think the models will go into correction mode and bring it back north? A similar scenario happened in 2014
@WeatherOnTheGoForecasts7 сағат бұрын
I call it the "windshield wiper effect". The models will shift south, the next day shift north, then shift south, then shift north again. It happens with just about every winter storm. Areas near the Gulf Coast and into parts of the Southeast United States will likely get several inches of snowfall early next week.

I live in what's considered costal mid-atlantic. Takes about 40 mins to cross into NC. It's been about maybe 8 or 9 years since we had a major snow storm. I've woke up to 6 inches on the ground that no one even saw coming. I'd rather have snow over a Noreaster. No one ever gets it right.
