thanks for posting. We have to replace our wood frame and weather seal the garage once we buy new doors. Now that I see you post about not putting the frame to the ground, now I know why ours was damaged. Builder put it to the ground 20 yrs ago :-/

Hi Ruth, You can let it touch the ground if you use PVC door jamb, but It is a little expensive. About $30.00 a board. The treated was about $8.00 ea. P.S. How is your kitchen coming out? Thanks! Paul
@ruthctaylor240610 жыл бұрын
Paul Ricalde thanks again. It definitely doesn't currently have a PVC door jamb. The kitchen had to be put aside for a bit because I had to concentrate on printing for my Autumn art festivals. I have one this weekend and another the 1st weekend in Nov. Hoping to get back to it soon.

Where do I buy the weatherstripping trim that was used in your video? My garage door is not flush on the side. There's a gap that allows air in.

I like your nail gun, no compressor?? I have no idea they make those cordless.... what brand it that... I want to get one!
@paulstoolbox10 жыл бұрын
Maria V Hi Maria,I cannot say it is the best because I have not tested other brands. I can honestly say that this one works great for me,however it was a little pricey. I had to purchase the gun,battery and charger, separately. It is well worth the money in my case because I use it a lot! It is a Ryobi 18 Gauge finish nail gun and it shoots nails from 5/8" to 2" in length. It is called the Ryobi Air Strike. I paid $129.00 for the gun but I believe the total package was around $250.00 I like the fact that the battery will work on any Ryobi tool.ThanksPaul

Good morning Paul. Just wondering do you have a battery operated nail gun for the 2x8 on the garage door jam. If so what size nail you recommend.
@paulstoolbox8 жыл бұрын
Hi Eric, I do have a pneumatic framing gun, but my battery operated gun is a trim gun. I like to use a stout trim nail for these applications. I used 10D Galvanized trim nails for the door jambs. They hold well and look better than common nails. The head is smaller and less noticeable. Here is a link that shows how I replaced the jamb. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnbRonWlabR3idk I hope this helps! @paulstoolbox9 жыл бұрын
+Carlos Trevino Hi Carlos, That tool is called the Lumber Lok Vise. I bought this one at Lowes for about $20.00. If you do not see them at your local stores, you can get them at Amazon.com. Thanks! Paul

dear Mr. Ricalde i just subscribed to your youtube enjoyed your video, i'm fixing to weather seal my garage door to keep air out thanks. One more thing would i be able to find the weather stripping at Home depot, will just nailing the trim do enough are can i nail and glue.
@paulstoolbox8 жыл бұрын
Hi Bobby, You can nail or screw your weatherstripping if you have a wooden garage door. If it is steel like the one in this video, you will need a rubber weatherstrip that goes on a track. What kind do you have? Thanks for subscribing!!! Paul
@paulstoolbox8 жыл бұрын
Bobby Romero Hi Bobby, You can glue and nail the weatherstrip, but it is not necessary. I personally like to use a good quality latex caulk and paint. I bought my vinyl trim at Lowes , but I believe Home Depot carries the same paintable vinyl trim and weatherstripping. Good luck! Paul

Hey Dave, I guess like my sound quality, your question didn't come across clearly. LOL Paul

Paul Ricalde Not really a question, more of a comment. The sound keeps fading out. Looked like it was good content however, other than the sound.
