Hi than (hope I got your name right 😉). I am considering putting this WeatherTech window deflector since you tackled all my concerns. Its just that like you what you have said, its a bit expensive (priced here at around $160 canadian on their site). I cracked laughing at your last comment in 20:36 - I can totally relate to that! 😂😂. Yet another one good reason having these during rainy times. I feel like all the things/mods I wanted to do to my soon-to-arrive HL Hybrid is here on your channel. Thanks for putting up these cool vids, tutorials and insights. Its really helping a lot of people out here (like me) looking for review and tutorial. You serve as like a beta tester, as you may call it, helping us make a good decision before we make the purchase. I've been a fan since I saw your channel. Keep it up 👍

Hi Richard, thank you so much for your support, it really validates why I decided to start this channel! You almost got my name correct as it has a silent H at the end. Not bad for a good first guess! lol Speaking of 'silent but deadly' I'm just trying to have fun while making these videos so I'm glad you enjoyed my sense of humor! What trim are you waiting for? I hope you enjoy the driving experience as much as I have, feel free to reach out with any future questions! 💪

Looks great. How do you like the Highlander? The platinum trim is really up to the level of Lexus quality and features. That pano roof is awesome. We were considering one.
@vietbubbletea2 жыл бұрын
The Platinum HyHi has been a great driving experience for my family. Although Lexus has more attention to the interior details, I absolutely love the pano roof, HUD, bird's-eye view camera, 12.3" monitor, Toyota Safety Sense features and great gas mileage at the 50K price point.

Thanks for making these Highlander videos. Hoping to have one this week. Is that factory tint? If not what do you % do you have on your windows?
@vietbubbletea2 жыл бұрын
Hi Wayne, the tint in the rears came from the factory untouched. I have my tint guy match the front up to 24% which is the legal limit here in Washington state. It's perfect for me as I couldn't imagine going any darker as it would limit how well you see cars in the side mirrors at night.
@waynedavis44392 жыл бұрын
@@vietbubbletea Cool. Here in Michigan it we can't have the front that dark and it can only be 4" down from the top. So I think i'll go a shade light than the 35% I believe the dealer told me it comes with and hope I don't get stopped. Oh did you tint the windshield?

Great vid, again. I'm thinking about getting these, and I'm glad you showed this first. Im probably still gonna get the in channel like you did. I think they will last longer. I'm also going to install the front hood deflector... I always like the look of those, and since mine has the Concrete paint color, I think it's gonna look sharp as hell. Have you considered one of those?
@vietbubbletea2 жыл бұрын
Much appreciated! An unexpected benefit to having the window deflectors when I was up in the freezing mountains was the shield it created from the snow and freezing rain at the top of the windows so it make rolling down the windows easy. I do plan to get the OEM hood deflector but it's only available in Canada. Since I live in Seattle, I plan to drive across the border in the summer and pick up a set while I visit some friends. Until then, I'll most likely apply an invisible PPF hood bra in preparation to screwing on the hood deflector brackets to protect the paint.

Yesterday I install the same deflectors, but I have a question. Your window (s) has some kind of interference with deflector when you close at 100%? Thanks.
@vietbubbletea8 ай бұрын

@@vietbubbletea Yes, that’s the plan. XLE AWD Gas. Have had a few Camry hybrids and the power train is great but getting an independent to work on them is a bit of a challenge. They’ll do most of the basic stuff but some of the bigger repairs they aren’t to keen on so off to the dealer I go. I’ve had my brakes seize up and had to replace at 50k mile which is way early for a hybrid, need to be serviced/lubed yearly here in the salted northeast, lesson learned. It’s a hard choice to go back to gas but I don’t put a lot of miles on and figure my next one will be electric so I’ll get a v6 while I can. Dealer said about 4-6 weeks so here’s hoping! Getting my list of mods from your vids. Love the content.

Look sleek. Is the fit tight and does it cause any obstruction as you roll up the windows? Im just wondering if will cause any issues with the window mechanics over time if it’s causing the windows to work slightly harder just to close.
@vietbubbletea5 ай бұрын
I've had them on for over 2yrs now with no issues. If you follow the prep instructions and clean out the window tracks thoroughly and press the guards out as I did at the 11:45 mark in the video, you should have no problem. Once you roll the windows up, leave it up for at least 24hrs to have it properly seated in the track. I've never had an issue with the window motor working harder to push the windows up.

I did the install, but the noise levels have gone drastically up for me .. It’s good If I keep my window closed. And certainly it’s looks awesome

The head unit receiver is still stock but I used an aftermarket plug-in Ottocast Android AI box to stream and play movies but it's old and outdated now. I used my cellphone as a mobile hotspot for the wifi. This technology is always evolving so I'm sure there are faster and better devices on the market today depending if you want to replace the entire head unit or use a similar Android box. How do you like your running boards, I am getting a set put on on Tuesday, just wandering if it’s worth the money.
@vietbubbletea2 жыл бұрын
I personally love my running boards. I'm 5'7" and although I don't use them, my wife and kids love it while I've never had any issues kicking or getting my legs dirty from inadvertently touching it when entering the car. Value is subjective based on preference, here's a list of the pros/cons that I've considered: Pros: ✔️ Helps children ✔️ Helps people with less mobility ✔️ Helps shorter adults ✔️ Catalytic converter theft deterant ✔️ Keeps front door hinge clean near wheel well from snow packing ✔️ Elevated platform makes washing the roof easier ✔️ Makes access to a cargo box easier when loading ✔️ When doors are closed, they don't stick out as much as other aftermarket products. ✔️ Subjective but it looks good while giving illusion that the car is lower. Cons: 🛑 OEM price tag of $500 if you don't shop around 🛑 Labor costs if you don't install yourself 🛑 For some, it can touch your pant legs 🛑 On sunny days, it can feel hot if your feet/ankles touch it 🛑 Could leave salt debris in between the frame - Get an undercarriage water sprayer for this
