From your descriptions, it sounds like the weather will be similar to what we have been getting for the last few days. Raining, then bright sun, then raining again. Glad I listened to you as I read those maps differently. Which just proves that I know nothing about weather forecasting :)

One of the more disappointing Christmas periods weather wise. So much rain lately with not enough long sun exposure to actually do a good job of evaporating the fallen rain, resulting in a gross, humid warm-ish weather with that carries a musty plant smell in the morning air. Banking on a decently dry Friday/Saturday to tend to the lawns before rain potentially comes back in on Sunday.

Especially weird as in September when we flew to Queenstown for Mum's 80th birthday... the day before it rained, snowed and had gales - we land the next day in clear, calm, skies and it stayed like that for the 3 days we were there... but we booked the trip 3 months prior! :)
