I think the main difference between "imposter syndrome" and "perfectionism" is that the former is tied to a level of success/acclaim/notoriety that the person doesn't feel they deserve. Whereas a perfectionist can have a complete lack of success/fame and be utterly unknown. The first is directed toward how the work is received/perceived, while the second is more about how the work is made.

i find myself struggling with making music because when I do, I'm always looking for that next level. It's like beating a boss in a game and going to the next stage. What happens now is beating the boss is now trivial and you can probably do it multiple times, but it's now just a normal thing to you. To someone else however, they want to know how you did it, and I feel like what most people do is shrug and just say they attempted it over and over, or they give helpful tips. I'm still learning how to appreciate how far I've come, but without major success, I find it difficult and I end up extremely unmotivated and disappointed. It truly is a curse.

Thanks for the reaction videos and breaking down what Venus Theory is sayin. I dont have a clue what hes talking about ie imposter syndrome. Being an old dude I never heard this term until the last couple years. If you can make good coin doing something badly you are a genius, take the coin and do something good with it.

VT is very eloquent, smart and understands asthetics. If you hate on that you're really hating on your own lack of those abilities. Your "reaction" beautifully illustrates that.

Could never hate against Venus Theory. Keeps it real with amazing technical tips in one video and then philosophizes why you’ll never be successful using the tip in the next. Hey, I guess I am capable of hate.

Big fan of VT deep thoughts videos. Big fan of WB massive hater videos. In other words, I like all the different styles that are served at the KZbin Corral. Something for everyone and only your time is wasted vs running up a credit card bill on gear I don't need. We need the deep thoughts to ground us from the shiny new toy reviews. Thanks for what you bring to the table. Humor and music can coexist. Shaved heads, debatable.

I actually have slight Imposter Syndrome, and what it does is every time I achieve success I feel like I'm not deserving despite having full knowledge I am better than the competition and earned it. So it's more of a trauma response. It's a feeling of never being adequate enough even if you are aware you are already doing more than most. So it's also sort of a pessimism syndrome which goes back to trauma. Khalid def does not appear to suffer from imposter syndrome he's more along the lines of, I'm just gonna let them take a video of me playing this guitar ridiculously because they need my name to views not my approval as a musician. Khalid comes off as somebody completely comfortable in his own skin and very optimistic which is how he got this far. I've learned being delusionally optimistic will get you way further in life than being realistic.

VT can talk for hours and says nothing. Step 1: write an essay Step 2: Use a jazz song for the background Step 3: reach the conclusion to do whatever you like and that there is no wrong way of doing something Step 4: nothing new achieved Step 5: feel like a smart person

Well he's really only trying to start a conversation with his videos, not just give a hard solution to al teast most of the things he talks about.

@@NovaTheVagabondBeatz Nope, he's one of those people that does everything in his power to be as ad-friendly as possible. He always dances around the subject and never says what he really thinks about that subject. On the other hand, Weaver is based, that's why you don't see him on the Izotope's main KZbin channel.
@NovaTheVagabondBeatz Жыл бұрын
@@deadlyrobot5179 Dawg one, why not be ad friendly if you don't have to go out of your way to. Second, if he did sprinkle his opinion throughout the entire video if you paid attention to it. Three, he doesn't need to even mention his opinion if he's just bringing up a conversational topic in video form. Four he's also asking questions, again not trying to give hard solutions, and five what's wrong with jazz, dude's got an aesthetic that works for him, I don't see how that's an issue. Six, there is no right or wrong way because everyone is different, if you think he's just trying to act smart because of how structures his video, that's straight up a you problem and not a real criticism.

No…what the guitar man suffers from is a psychological disorder called HYSTERICAL PERSONALITY DISORDER. This involves a not only having no idea how badly you suck (how ill-prepared or inadequately trained you are…OR.:.in guitar man’s case, how horrible your playing technique is! But also absolutely NO INSIGHT Into how others perceive you and your work. To the contrary, the patient has a tendency to believe that most others share the grandiose feelings about him, about the whole misfit adventure.
