Yes! Please do more on this subject. Chuck has a feather that he repeats on many of his projects. Could you do something like that?

This was one of those things that when I saw this, I thought "PHFFFT, I CAN DO THAT..." I dont want to discourage anyone from trying something new. Its always better to do something and fail than to sit on the couch eating junk food (which was what I would of been doing had I not attempted this). ...but I promise you, it is not as easy as he makes this look. I went out, got the tools, got the pattern, already had the leather.. My flower looks sooooo BAD! lol. As soon as I made my first cut with the swivel knife I thought "Oh No, this is not easy". I need tools that are like 25% of the size to get in there and get that kind of detail. The best way to describe what my project looks like: Take his beautifully tooled journal cover and then imagine what it would look like if you were looking at it while under water. Meaning no definition, all blurry and fuzzy, hard to make out.. Just bad. I need about 5 more years of practice. lol

I have a general question. Can you show any hints or tips in covering up mistakes beginner leather crafters encounter. I know this is a wide subject but just an idea.

Here's another topic that may be of interest to people. A safe, gentle method of cleaning dye (both water-based and oil based) off of one's hands. My gloves do not really keep the dye from penetrating and thicker gloves are clumsy. Suggestions welcome. (tried Lava soap. They put some kind of oil in it that makes me sneeze. Can't use that)

Hi Bruce, Acetone, nail polish remover, alcohol or even hand sanitizer will help to get rid of the dye residue. Hope that helps!

Hey chuck have ever used gold/silver foil on a project? If not have you ever thought of using foil? If so how did you use it, and what process did you use?

Hi Mark, Normally with foil you will need heat, so a heat stamp on foil works great or there are foil stamping machines that you can buy specifically for this. We don't carry a foil stamper unfortunately so I'm not super familiar with it. Sorry about that!

Why do all leather work look the same? Yeah they are different but dang it they all have this 🤔 rule system? That makes them all look the same. Doesn't matter if it's flowers or ferns or leaves they all look odd and flow a specific way that i can't wrap my brain around (noob problems)
