Thank you so much for posting this. I am getting back into the craft after 40 years. I have my grandmother's Craftool stamps and they are great. I've been having fun practicing. This video showed me some things I'm doing right, and some I could do differently.

thank you for your time and guidance. You have lifted the fog that was my understanding of leather carving. I look forward to watching your other videos. As you seamlessly show how carving leather is accomplished, your skill to artistically put a flower on a bank piece of leather is not coming through on your video. I guess some things cannot be "taught", without allot of practice. You, sir, are an artist.

Most of the time I wet the whole piece and let it case a while. If you wet the back side it will give your tooling and carving more depth.

Goals!!! Thank you so much for this demo. I am a jewelry designer looking to get into leather crafting & was wondering which tools are most used. I have a 30 lb box of scrap leather (I would hardly call it scrap there are some huge pieces in there lol) waiting for me to play with I got a few years ago bc the price I couldn’t refuse. Thank you!

I am a beginner and watch a lot of tutorials. I’ve learned a lot but have so much more before I can even begin. Something I’ve never heard anyone explain is how deep should you make the cuts with the swivel knife?

What size knife blade are you using? Your knife marks cuts easily and smooth. My knife blade cuts choppy and doesn’t glide easily. I thought was dull, so I sharpened the blade and then used my strop on it. Richard

Bruce, I hate all you pros. I work so hard to find a way to get the spacing good from one circle to another. I use everything in the books. Then you come along with a neadle and just go after it like it's second nature. Shame on you. I love watching you and everything you do. Some day something mite sink in. Never stop. I love it.
