The only reason why I knew weavile gets it is because I heard about a strategy in doubles that makes use of weavile's paltry special attack to safely get a water type hit on the player's own coalossal to get weakness policy steam engine going.

There really should be a hisuian zoroark on that team. Nasty plot weavile is so unnatural, the opponent would think its zoroark. This would protect weavile from fighting damage.

Safer play in the last turn of the second battle was Trick Room. You knew you were going second, so the negative priority wouldn’t matter. So if you survive you guarantee get an attack off the next turn anyway, and if that attack doesn’t kill you bring your final pokemon in to outspeed and win.

Total misplay by the first opponent when they went tera ground, if they stayed rock they'd maintain the special defense boost from sandstorm and maybe could've lived that surf. Not that they'd be especially likely to beat the rest of your team, but still

Gen 7, I used a Jolly Weavile with Pressure (max HP and Speed) with Substitute/Protect/Spite/Throat Chop. It worked great, until I transferred it. That battle timer completely ruined the strategy.
