Weaving a natural, biodegradable HAT out of the leaves of wild date palm

Let’s have a look on the step by step procedure of making a hat with wild date palm leaves.
1.Cut the leaves of wild date palm with small sickle shaped knife.
2.Get smaller portion of leaves and boil them with dye and keep the rest without adding dye.
3.Steam the leaves in a barrel to season.
4.Allow the steamed leaves to dry under the shade.
5.Interlace two leaves together to make series of stripes from the leaves of wild date palm.
6.Set the strips in rounded shape and entangle the adjacent strips with needle and threads.
7.After making the outer part or the brim of hat,the head part or the crown is formed by the same way by using a hat block or mould of a head.

1.It gives a complete shelter from harmful sunlight to your face , because of the wider brim.
2.It gives an anti sweating effect to the head because the air circulation is possible through the tiny holes among the woven leaves.That would make you convenient and comfortable throughout the journey.

4.Hats made from natural leaves have become rather fashionable item which give a cool and relaxed appearance.
