I have been having a terrible time with tension and sheds on my 24" Ashford rigid heddle loom. I watched this video last night so today I went to Wal-Mart and bought the exact same yarn you used here (love the denim look it has). Thank you, thank you, thank you! Came home, warped my loom and have already woven a good 18" of perfect fabric. Thanks to you I am actually enjoying weaving on my loom!

I have made several scarves with this exact yarn but only using it for the weft and white cotton 8/2 for the warp. I see you are using it for both weft and warp and it looks absolutely fab! Lili, Kasa Bianca

Lilliam, did you double thread the warp? What dpi was your heddle? Thanks!

@@annieem5693 Hi there, no I didn't double thread the warp and the heddle I used was 7.5 😊

You mentioned wet finishing after the scarf is off the loom. Can you recommend a video on how to wet finish? I just started making your scarf and am only 1 inch into the project. I love your enthusiasm. Thanks for all the help.

It's funny you might ask, I'm currently working on a video about wet finishing. Hopefully I will be able to get it out in a few weeks! I believe that there are as many ways to finish a piece as there are weavers! Myself, when I wet finish a scarf, I soak it for a few hours in cold water. I usually add a bit of vinegar in order to fix the color. Then I rinse it well and let it soak again in cold water with soap! After that I rinse again and I let it dry! To speed the process, I often put the scarf for a spin in the washing machine. Finally, I iron it! I hope this helps you in the meantime that I get my video out 😊

I used my 7.5 dpi heddle 😊

I'm in the middle of my first project using this yarn. The weft is looking much more dense then I want . I can hardly see the warp. I don't think im beating too hard. What do you think it could be?
@Curly_n_Yarny2 жыл бұрын
It's very hard for me to tell without seeing your project. There might be a few things causing that. Are you using a 7.5 or 8 DPI heddle? Also, how is your tension on the loom?
