The music, narrating, video, weaving, and touch of chicken cuteness are all just superb in this video. It's been a crazy, hectic day for me, and my anxiety is high about the kids first day of school. This video was just what I needed to calm my nerves and fill my brain with happy thoughts of lovely woven wool!

on the permie's page there were questions about the hood attachment. It might be worthwhile to consider that often medieval hoods were separate from the cloak.

Given how mild the weather is here, I'm going to go with a collar rather than a hood.

My pegs have a two inch allowance per yard and I wound seven yards. After fulling I had 14.5 feet. Duh!!! Even the 2 ply worsted warp yarn gave up 7-8% in length. No breakage but some Dummy crossed his warp yarn. The knots couldn't be seen after the fulling.

Weaving, particularly warping the loom, looks way too much like hard work to me. I love the fabric you have made, though.

Thrums is my favourite weaving word. But I always feel so bad for them being a 'waste' product and yet we couldn't weave on a loom like this without them.

That is some LOVELY fabric! I adore the natural color and its variation throughout! I’ve only woven twice (just two scarves on a rigid heddle), but thought the fulling process was almost magical! 😊

It's wonderful watching this garment come into being. 😊 ... I grew up with a wonderful ond washing machine like yours. They just keep going and going, don't they? 😀

Wonderful! I love how much fun these wringer machines are. I can save a lot of water by letting the laundry build up and washing a big load all at once.

I should have stayed at 12 epi . I went to 10 epi and the 38 inch fabric became 32 inch fabric after the washing/fulling. There is always some shrinkage.

I miss my Nilus! I actually got homesick for my old loom, watching you weave. :) Your cloth looks beautiful and I imagine it feels really satisfying to hold. Thank you for sharing the process with us. I just took a much shorter, narrower warp off and it is blocking and drying now. Weaving with handspun is addictive! I'm sure you can make a cloak out of your fabric--consider looking for a zero-waste pattern, which might use a creative construction method to get the most out of that lovely yardage!

Beautiful video and wondrous weaving! Your cloth looks fabulous, it makes me wish for touch a vision to really be able to see it with my weaver fingers. After fulling do you press your yardage? I love watching all the textile stages from web to fashion garment. Congratulations on the beautiful yardage! 🎉

Thanks! Yes, I'll press it. I expect with this yarn it will have a lot of texture. But we'll see in a few days when the next video comes out :)
