Thank you so much! Your series of videos is so helpful from the beginning to the end. I will be receiving my floor loom in three to six month. I will watch your how-to-videos again. God bless you.

This series is a must keep! I will definitely refer back to it often as I have just received my first floor loom. Coming from rigid heddle, it seemed like a daunting task, thanks for making it less intimidating and making it all make sense! :D

It's 2019 & I just found your video series! Bless you, you've answered so many questions & today my husband presented me with my first Temple that he made for me!! We're working on plans to build me a real floor loom as well! I've been weaving for a year & have tapestry looms, one I bought and one my husband built for me that goes from Twenty inches wide to Thirty six inches. I want a floor loom but can't find any here in Idaho, so we will have to build one from scratch! Again, Thank you so much for this wonderful video series!

I just finished a 36 inch wide, 10 epi, plain weave project using homespun, 2-ply yarn. I tried to keep the warp yarn as worsted because I figured this would go through the wire heddles better. The worsted yarn just wasn't working for the weft so I switched to two ply wooled spun yarn and it worked great. I had two cases of the yarn being crossed between the reed and the heddles and two cases of warp yarn breaking.

Thank you Dolores for this series of videos for the novice weaver! I was recently given a 4 harness loom and due to Covid 19, weaving classes in my area have been all been canceled. Your videos are giving me the info and confidence to forge ahead with my first project! Thank you!

You have answered so many of my questions in this video! Thanks for the help, especially with showing how to add the extra heddle. I am in need of a few of those. Could you tell me where you purchased them and what gauge wire they might be?

Hi, Thank you. You can get "wire repair heddles" at the Woolery. Here is a link: woolery.com/wire-repair-heddles-9-5-10-5-12-5.html They sell them individually for $1. ea

You are my new hero! Where can I find the pins you showed for the home made temple?
@DoloresJacobs5 жыл бұрын
The pins for the temple are what are called Chinese suspension hooks for silk painting. They are available at Dharma Trading Company. Here is the link: www.dharmatrading.com/tools/chinese-suspension-hooks.html

It looks like you get a really nice shed on your loom. great video, thank you, Ellen

Yes, the shed is good on this loom. Overall I am very happy with the HD loom.

That is good to know. I'm limited on space. I was thinking of the 22 inch. I know I would have to piece a blanket together if I wanted to make one. Right now I just picked up a used table top loom to learn on.

hi Dolores, would you do a video on warping with other colours to show the method of changing colours on the warp board. i think it would be great to help understanding the method better. thank you

Thank you! I’ve learned so much watching your videos. I wish I would’ve found you before I purchased the 2 Learn to Weave books. And a couple of videos. I could’ve bought more yarn with the money. Where did you get your Temple? Right now I have a used Ashford 4 shaft Table Loom with the stand and treadles. Can’t wait to move when my husband retires and hopefully have a craft room and then I want to get a floor loom. Do you use the 8 shafts a lot? Thanks😊

I love the little cheat sheet with the round magnets. where did you get the round magnets?So many wonderful tips :-)
@DoloresJacobs7 жыл бұрын
Hi, I got the magnets from Walmart several years ago in the office supply isle. I don't know if they still carry them. Amazon.com has something similar, check this link: amzn.to/2tPuR6A

Great video. I'm learning lots. Where did you get the bobbin winder to mount to your loom?
@DoloresJacobs5 жыл бұрын
Hi, it is a Leclerc Hand Bobbin winder. here is a link to the Woolery.com to see it woolery.com/search/searchresults?search_query=bobbin%20winder I think they all have a way to mount them on a table, I just mounted on the upright of the loom. Very convenient and out of the way.

Also can u just tie your peddles up so you have pattern that way or do you really have to thread the heddles by the graph thanks dear
@kathleenhassenmiller53404 жыл бұрын
If possible can you show me how to tie up my 4 harness loom for plain weave and rose path. I can’t remember how. It’s been almost 20 years ago.
@dianerundstrom74514 жыл бұрын
Do you have any videos on the correct way to tie up the treadles? I have trouble getting mine to pull up the harnesses evenly thus my sheds don't open with a clean space.
@DoloresJacobs4 жыл бұрын
No other videos but, you may want to look at how the harnesses are hung at the top. Then just play around with tying the treadles to get them even and a large enough shed.

If you bought a Harrisville loom, did you get it from their store in New Hampshire? Do you live in New England?
@DoloresJacobs7 жыл бұрын
Hi, no I don't live in New England. The loom was shipped in two boxes and I assembled it.
@SpiritBear127 жыл бұрын
Wow, that must have been one heck of an undertaking! I'm pretty good at putting boxed kits together, but I don't think I'd want to tackle something like that loom. LOL Good for you though. :-)

Hi ur video is very helpfull.thanku so much.im new in this..can we follow 1234 numbers plz help.
@rosepedal055 жыл бұрын
Do you always thread heddles the same way no one talks about that ,you have 4 heddles 1234 so do u always from front to back 1234
@DoloresJacobs5 жыл бұрын
No, you don't always thread 1234 although there is a lot of patterns that you can weave with this threading. The pattern or draft is what dictates how you thread the heddles.
@rosepedal055 жыл бұрын
Dolores so if my pattern says 122334143423. I just it continuing those numbers till threaded as many as needed is that right thank you vicky
@DoloresJacobs5 жыл бұрын
Yes, just start at the beginning and thread until finished.
