Hey guys, I know it is a long one, but I wanted to elaborate a bit on each topic instead of just skimming through slides. Use the timestamps if needed. Also, you don't need to even watch. You could listen to it while driving, etc. I will also be writing an ebook based on this guide but will be more in-depth. Thanks!

Although I'm familiar with alot of the terms here, it was always so discouraging seeing so many different types of technologies listed on job descriptions. It was super intimidating and made me want to give up many times. A video like this that breaks down literally everything is so beneficial for someone like me trying to find a job in the field. Can't thank you enough for your hard work in making this community more inclusive and easier to navigate for newbies like myself. Thank you Brad! Hope you have an awesome 2022!

Hey Brad, I used to struggle with getting my foot in the door in this industry several years ago, but watched an earlier version of this video along with your MERN stack Udemy course which set me off on the right track. I'm now a mid-level developer in a company, actually enjoy the work I do, and my salary is the highest it ever has been in my professional career. Just wanted to say thanks. Truly wish I could work with a developer with your knowledge and humility. I'm indebted to you for your story and the content you put out.

This was INCREDIBLY helpful. As someone who is not a developer/coder wanting to learn & not knowing where to start because of all the moving pieces, this has provided the broad level overview that connects the dots for me in a way no other resource I’ve found up to this point has been able to do. Wow what a tour de force overview of web technology Brad's video is! On the other hand, 25+ years after the web was born, what an overwhelmingly complicated and unmitigated cluster fuck of technology the web has become and continues to be. I cannot imagine what a daunting task it would be for someone starting out in the industry today to *master* *any* of the complete paths from core concepts to a single front end and a single compatible back end that actually delivers a bug-free website, not to mention learning networking, security, UI principles, mobile, SEO, databases, not to mention the business of being in the web design and programming business. No wonder 40% of the web is built on Wordpress!

When I was first trying to work out what I needed to learn for web development, I listened to an earlier version of this video and was duly intimidated! There are just so many things to learn and at that point I didn't know really what a lot of these things like 'frameworks' or packages or libraries were let alone what they did. If there's any beginners out there reading this who feel the same about how incomprehensibly complex this seems- take heart! Six months later after doing a web developer bootcamp udemy course I now have an idea of what most of these things are and what kind of uses they have. If you are in a position of feeling intimidated by the sheer amount of things, definitely going through a web developer course can help clarify so much what this is all about.

I started an online program for web dev a year ago, but I ended up searching out other resources that were better suited for my specific interests. The main thing I took from the first program though was at least the knowledge/map of what targets to aim for. What's described in this video matches that pretty closely, but with more updated info. This video is a great place to start if you have an interest. Try everything out and see where you want to go before you get stuck in a formal program that might not be what you're looking for.

I chose Ionic so I could have one code base and compile to Android and iOS your videos really helped me and I was able to pull it off working alone on the project. dont go to web3 stuff yet, they are very niche, and it's only used for Dapps, and it's not that hard, it's just an API. If you have time to spend, focus on TypeScript and Python, I have used a lot GraphQL professionally.
