Please educate and inform yourself before you make such a comment. Ukraine is not an independent democracy, their government does what US tells them to do and they have nazi methods. With the knowledge of the government Ukrainian army killed 15 000 Russians in the past 8 years who live in the Donbas region. They also oppress other minorities.I am Hungarian, and we know that since years the Hungarian minority in Ukraine has been constantly oppressed too, they are beaten, their cultural centres are ruined by neo nazis, and they aren't allowed to use their language. Some months ago Ukrainians wanted to deport them back to Hungary. Sorry but this is not democracy! People in Ukraine are very poor and they are starving, which is the government's fault. US stirring the shit in Ukraine so that it will weaken not only Russia but Europe as well. US wants to fight against China alone, they don't need strong opponents lika Russia or Europe. It is very clear. Please read not only mainstream US media but other, more reliable sources too. Or you can travel to Ukraine too see with your own eyes what is happening there. It is easy to form opinion from your comfy sofa in the US.

Are you proud that Ukraine murdered 15 000 Russians and about 200 000 Polish people including kids and babies a few decades ago? Your country never allowed to exhume multiple pit graves, families have no closure to this day, and Ukraine never apologized and you are proud celebrating those murderers as your national heros? Seems like karma got you.

I liked her a lot and never knew she was from Ukraine until now....to me she was the Russian girl. Then she came to live in America. There were rumors that she was arrested for drunken driving and that she was going wild while in Florida. Now she is a grown up woman....i still like her. Bravo Oksana, never forget where you came from.

I don't know what mistake you were watching, but television broadcasters prominently displayed the Ukrainian flag next to her name when she was competing in the 1994 Olympics and they played the Ukrainian anthem as they raised the Ukrainian banner after she won the gold medal in figure skating. Television announcers kept repeating her story of being orphaned in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine in 1991 when her single mother died. There was no mistake she is from Ukraine. In January 1997 (three years after winning the gold medal), Baiul was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing her car into a tree in Bloomfield, Connecticut. The charges were dropped after she met the terms of probation and completed an alcohol education program. Her drinking problem worsened, however. In May 1997 she entered an alcohol rehabilitation program for two and a half months. In a 2004 interview, she said she had been sober for six years, saying "This is more important than Olympic gold." That past incident of drinking in one moment in her lifetime should not define her.
@agustindejesus73982 жыл бұрын
@@RaymondHngRay, iam sorry, but it was my believe that Ukraine was part of Rusia back then. We know her cause she won gold, otherwise she would has never have the chance of moving to the US, so gold is very important. I did not say that her drinking problem defined her.

Since I live in one of the neighbour countries of Ukraine and we took 450 000 refugees so far I regularly donate small amounts. I help people who suffer but I DON'T support the Ukrainian government, which act as USA pleases and who are responsible for this war. Ukrainians should leave in peace with Russians but they made a huge mistake that they let America influence their country in the past years. Zelensky was a nobody, an actor 4 years ago and he suddenly became a president out of nothing, without any experience in politics, let alone world politics? Big mistake. But Yatsenuk wasn't better either. The Ukrainians killed 15000 Russians in the Donbass since 2014 and sadly they were manipulated by US to think they would have any chance to join EU or NATO. Russia was provoked by the plans of Ukraine to join the NATO, which was a big mistake. Don't blame this whole situation on Putin! He wanted a good relationship with Ukraine and waited 8 years for them to change but Ukraine only did what USA told them to do. The civilians are paying a big prize for the constant mistakes of their government. Sorry but they can't govern and they caused today's situation. Oksana Baiul has a good heart but she has been living far away from Ukraine for nearly 30 years and she may not know what is really going on in her home country or in Europe in general. There were 51 millions of people in Ukraine in 1991, before the war in 2022 there were only 41 - people have been fleeing from Ukraine because it's a poor, corrupted country with big problems. They had a chance to establish a free and prospering country in the 1990s but they couldn't live with this opportunity. Oksana was one of them who went to US very quickly after she won in the Olympics, obviously because the situation was so bad in Ukraine and many left the country. People will have to live now in this situation in Ukraine. Praying for a peace between the nations, Russians, Ukrainians and other minorities (Hungarian, Polish, Ruthens, Romanians etc).

I am originally from Poland and agree with you. I am disgusted by people’s ignorance in this topic and tons of propaganda. Ukrainian had been flooding Poland for many years now and overtaking. Why other countries have to pay for mistakes of Ukraine? It took Poland a long time and lots of effort to get on feet after economical and mental devastations of wwII and decades of communism and now this. This going to ruin not only Ukraine, but also Poland and other European countries. And USA is only looking for weak Europe. Biden is provoking people in Europe to fight Putin because America wants weak Russia and Europe. Yet again, another war provoked and controlled by USA on somebody else’s fields.
