The anguish shown by Don Mattingly is heartbreaking. It is almost as if he lost his own child. May that young man rest in peace.

Being a Colorado Rockies fan, born and raised in Colorado and a lifelong fan of anything Denver (yeah Super Bowl 50), yet living in Boca currently, I can't help but be devastated by this incredibly sad news! As long as you're a sports fan, I don't care who your team is or what sport it is, there can't be anything but admiration for this incredible young man who died way too early, he was just entering his prime and would have had a bright future, rest in peace Jose! Being born in 94 myself it's heartbreaking to see this guy who was only 2 years older than me who had such a loving spirit and was a symbol of equanimity and freedom, nothing but praise can be said of someone like Fernandez!

I had a Dream with him in it the night of this accident .He was throwing the base ball to me and he said keep catching it and that is what life is all about some times you hit and miss ,but you always get back up and finish playing the game the best that you can.I find this very nice for one baseball players are very superstitious people and that is what America is best known for .I do think in a way baseball will soon become even more popular today as it was in the early 1900's the Wave Of Baseball is Back I remember as a kid waking up early in the summer morning and playing baseball until the sun went down it is a great sport for your mind and physical body most kids now just play video games and should be outside playing sports .GOD BLESS Him and his Family he will always be a legacy and truly be remembered as a Great Baseball Player RIP friend Jose Fernandez you will be missed we Love You!!!

I was living near the campus and the night that he died I dream a demon appearance he was just saying the 6 the 6 the 6 and he was celebrating i couldn't understand what the fuck he was talking about until the next morning was devastating I think he is in heaven but I think some entities appear in this world that are evil and when a human being with such impacting heart and good guy is always gonna make them smile

Tulo is my favorite player. I still remember the day the Rockies played the marlins in Miami and Fernandez was pitching for Miami. During one of tulos at bats, he hit a 97 mph (still not very sure) line drive and Fernandez caught it like it was no problem. That play will forever be in my memory. Rest in paradise Jose Fernandez. You will forever be remembered

Ugh this broke my heart just watching this. Some people say you shouldn’t go back to stories like this but this is a story you should go back to because this man not only fought for his team but he fought for his country. He loved everything about who he was and how important he made others feel. Baseball or no baseball Jose was a person that people wanted to be around and that makes me smile.

I don't think someone can watch this and not. Especially when Mattingly and Hill couldn't even finish what they were trying to say. If you've ever lost someone and experienced horrible grief, you can completely relate to how they were at a loss for words and almost dumbfounded and speechless. Almost as though your voice is being ripped out of your throat. Very hard to watch the sadness in that room on that morning.

I didn't know about Jose Fernandez till the late 2013 For Rookies because at that time only heard about Yasiel Puig even though I'm a padres fan. When he won Rookie of the year. I'm like alright and I clapped. In 2014 I was in shock when I heard he went under Tommy John Surgery. When I heard he returned I'm like yes. In 2016 I saw him pitch at the 2016 Mlb all star game. When he was pitching I was like really focused on him just watching him pitch. When he was walking out I took a good look at him walking into the dugout. When I woke in the morning I got a youtube notfication from Exe edits a tribute to Jose Fernandez. I was confused because I was lik wait he is still alive is he? When I looked him up.I couldn't believe it saying that he was gone. If they went on to win the World series.I would have said this was for Jose Fernandez. We are going to miss all of us will.He may be gone but not forgotten R.I.P Jose Fernandez we are going to miss you.
