A 24-hour webcam is keeping a watchful eye on a bald eagle nest in California, where many are eagerly waiting for three eggs to hatch. Joy Benedict reports.

We have been watching these two for years now. They have had losses and joys to celebrate. Shadow took the year before last pretty hard with the eggs not hatching - he just wouldn’t give up - kept insisting in incubating long past time for a viable egg. Jackie knew instinctively those eggs weren’t good. Was so sad. We so hope we see joy for them this year and all their hard work. All of those videos are on cali condor on KZbin. Devoted couple - devoted parents.

It's good to see so many watching and awaiting the first hatch of this magnificent couple. Just to add, there is another eagle couple, Thunder and Chet, at a nest on Catalina Island, also incubating three eggs. They are on the West End Bald Eagle Cam here on KZbin.

Yea I watched a lot last year and Jackie would go away for long periods at a time. This time the two have been faithful about swapping duties. Just yesterday she got up and flew off, which completely surprised me, but then she came back right away.

Yeah since the eggs likely succumbed to the elements from them not incubating often enough last year, they’ve been extra sure to not leave the nest unoccupied for any amount of time.

I think as mammals, javelina would be interesting. They carry for 5 months, when born a javelina is probably the smallest hooved animal on the planet. They form a very unique "squad". The young is allowed to nurse a long time.

They are done! Same as last year. This pair has a fertility problem that the cam operators will not admit to because they can to keep KZbin views. In the last 3 years only 1 out 7 eggs has hatched? They really need to move their cam to a fertile site.

KZbin suggested this channel to me. I'm watching it all the time and hoping to see all 3 eggs hatch into healthy eaglets that, in 5 years, will wear the white feathers of mature bald eagles.
