I've had my Silver B for over 20 years, and I bought it used back then. I've changed the burners twice. I love this grill so much, I refuse to change it. My kids, who grew up eating from that grill, have offered to buy me a new grill. It's a "Hell No" for me. They tease me because they know how much I love that grill. I cook year round (snow, rain, tropical storm, etc...) I powerwash and deep clean everything twice a year (Spring and Fall) and remove all the gunk inside.

I have the same Weber Genesis Silver B natural gas... it's 23 1/2 years old! and still working... this thing doesn't owe me anything... lives outdoors 365 days a year... usually gets one good cleaning per year... I haven't bothered with a cover for the last 6 years or so as they are more trouble than they're worth... original flavorizer bars, twisted and deformed but functional... I upgraded to solid stainless rod grates about 8 or 9 years ago... the best thing about this model is the non-metal end tables with fold up extensions... As I have less space now I expect to shift to a Fuego Element soon.

If you take the plate off that the burner knobs stick through you can easily do EVERYTHING from the top...No need to stand on your head and work from underneath to take everything apart....There are two screws on the right side that hold the plate on.....Very, very simple that way.

Thanks for this... excellent step by step video... Yours is very similar to the model we have. I wanted to take ours apart to properly clean the burners, not replace them as they are not (yet) rusted out. A key safety point I would like to offer to DIYers... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be sure to purchase the right replacement burners. Not every burner is the same. You must buy either Natural Gas (NG) burners OR Liquid Propane (LP) burners depending which your BBQ runs on. The BBQ regulator flow pressures are different as are the sizes of the holes in the burners.

Great video. I have a similar model that also needs the burners. I was going to order the same ones you had ordered but they are not genuine Weber burners. Doesn’t that detract from whole Weber mystique and makes it just like any old BBQ grill?

I found a way to save some work if you have a cutoff wheel or hack saw. I first removed the screws holding the burner ends. Then i cut off the last 4 or 5 inches. Then i was able to easily remove the burners from the right side. I was able to slide the new burners in from the right side without removing all the mounting hardware of the nozzels. Then i just had to wiggle them back in to the nozzels.

Would a girl be able to do this?? Also I just need to replace the pipe that goes vertical on the far left. I've had my Weber since 1999. It's 25 years old. Looked at some brand new ones today. I like my old one better.

If you watch this video THERE 2 THINGS TO DO DIFFERENTLY!!! #-1 You Don’t need to remove the burner guide screws on the left side! The burners will slide out/in easily #2- The control panel under the knobs can be removed to access the gas manifold and brackets below it.. This will save bending Down awkwardly as u disassemble the gas manifolds …!

I've seen other videos where it says not to. The burner end just rides around it to stay in place. But I haven't tried mine yet.
@sopromondo32622 жыл бұрын
What I did was clean off all the grease and any debris from the top of the screws. Then I used an 8 mm socket (which is less likely to strip the head of the screw) and to my surprise they came loose rather easily. I was expecting a challenge since there is always that one bolt or screw that just doesn't want to cooperate. You can try something like PB Blaster or any other type of penetrating oil.

@gregbarrett15152 жыл бұрын
@@sopromondo3262 You don't need to remove the screws on the left side of the firebox. The burner ends just slide under them. I discovered this yesterday while trying to replace the burners on my 2002 Genesis B grill when I couldn't get one of the screws out and after Googling about it, found a Weber forum that stated that you didn't need to remove them. Sure enough, I was able to slide the old burners out and the new burners in without removing those screws.
