Weber Lighter Cubes - Test and Review - WetFire Alternative. Camping Gear - Fire Starters. In this video we will test and review the Weber fire cubes. They are a perfect alternative to the more expensive Wet Fire, Fire starters. As far as I can tell they are made of the same material. You also get over twice as much material for a fraction of the cost of a Wet Fire.

Those look like metaldehyde cubes. They have been used as firelighters for decades and also slug killers (slugs like the smell of them, eat them and then lose all their water). Whether you can then use the dead slugs as frelighters I don’t know 😉 I agree they are great firelighters and water repellent.

plus side ... NO smoke. Excellent for reducing/eliminating the smoke when using a BBQ chimney starter.
