If I close my eyes, I don't get to watch him play! :) However yes, I know what you're saying. However, I still find it beautiful.

i love this song............and i really appreciate the effort............but hearing it on the bassoon is SO great!!!!

Yes, his accents were a bit to sharp for my taste (I prefer the more rounded bow speed accents at the beginning myself) but either way it is a beautiful piece performed with such passion.

Do you know who transcribed this version?! I am playing the one that Primrose transcribed and it seems to be incredibly different!

Lá viola de Bashmet é uma viola tamanho 42. Parece grande porque ele tem somente 1,64 de altura. Zukermann por exemplo tem 1.85 e a viola 42 parece pequena.

Bashmet has never been my favorite violist, and this piece changes nothing in that regard. Anna Serova plays it better, IMHO, although the recording quality isn't as good. It will be awesome when Ori Kam plays it and posts it... Kam is my favorite violist...

@lekmioas I am also Hungarian. That hardly makes you (or me) an expert on this music. Now, if you are a Hungarian viola player who has played this with a reputable orchestra, your comments MAY mean a little more. But just being Hungarian is not enough. That's like saying that only an Israeli can properly understand Perlman.

@lekmioas then if I misunderstood your comments, my apologies. Better THIS music than AC/DC... :)

It is original for basoon, and Weber transcribed himself for viola. you have Primrose "edition" not version!
@SilasGranjo12 жыл бұрын
Gostei, mas as acentuações iniciais parecem-me um pouco excessivas, quase caricaturais. O título original é "Andante e rondo ungarese": portanto só o rondó é que é húngaro, não o andante. A versão francesa também usa o singular - hungrois . . .

Yeah I just don't know how I feel about those ridiculous accents at the beginning. But no doubt he is a baller at playing.

He's just right, IMO. It takes a little more strength to get the full sound out of the note on a viola.

he plays the rhythm incorrectly at the beginning
@daniellee35075 жыл бұрын
mymainmanrichieT actually he doesn’t. He’s just emphasizing the accents a lot. Take it from a violist who is playing this piece

Sounds cool but very stylistically WRONG. But hey if you are that famous I guess you can afford it.

What a wonderful music, but what a boring interpretation!!!!it´s a shame, one of the best violist ever... just as an experiment, close your eyes and listen to... you never believe that is the great Bashmet playing!!!sounds like a nice etude..where is the frasing, dynamics, counterpoint??? Have to say that Eb Major section is nice, that´s all! Thanks figura20000 for post it.
