Hi, I have a limited company in the UK, I am not a UK citizen and I live non-UK country. I'm the only shareholder of this company and also the director. I have two questions 1) If I pay myself up to 12.750 pounds (LEL) in a year, can I benefit from the tax-free salary? 2) Can I take an amount over 12.750 pounds by dividend with an 8.75% tax rate? Thanks

Thank you for your kind enquiry. Unfortunately we are unable to provide tax advice. We would recommend consulting a tax accountant / solicitor for an answer to your question.

Why don't you provide a video on obtaining mortgages for the self employed directors etc, especially start ups who have difficulty raising finance?

That is a great idea which we will consider. Have you struggled to get a mortgage due to self-employment?

Great video, probably the use of some visual (slides or a dashboard with numbers would have helped a bit). It would be interesting to have a video covering the same topic for non-resident shareholders and/or directors. I understand that under a point of taxation it depends on the tax double treaty between UK and the country the non-resident shareholder is living, but it could be interesting to cover an EU resident shareholder (for sure there is a tax double treaty in place), a NON-EU resident shareholder using a country that has a tax double treaty with UK and a NON-EU resident shareholder with no tax double treaty in place).

Thanks for the feedback. We will consider a video on this topic. Are you on a non-UK resident?
