I decided to make a pit-stop on my way down to Florida in North Carolina to visit my friend Brian Fox. Brian is absolutely crazy on his bike, 1080s, double backflips, EVERYTHING. His ankle was actually bothering him pretty badly when I was there, but he toughed it out to film this video with me, and I'm glad he did! Brian is the man.
Regarding the situation with the police, I just wanted to point out once again that we were clearly just pointing out what we felt was unjust at the skatepark in what we considered an appropriate manner. We don't encourage you to talk back to police or to give them a hard time at all. We were grateful that the lady was nice to us and did not give us a hard time, some cops would have handcuffed us. It is ridiculous that parks like this exist and exclude an entire sport, for the matter of personal issues. I was told that the people who built this park (and many other skate-only parks) purposely put in their contracts that bikes void the warranty, so towns naturally don't allow them. I personally don't believe that plastic pegs and tires do any more damage than trucks and wheel bolts hitting the ground, but the towns don't listen.
To avoid situations like this, be sure to be INVOLVED if your town is ever getting a skatepark built. If BMX riders help fund and plan the park, there is less chance of being excluded. All too often we get lazy and let the skaters go through all the legal actions of getting a park built and are surprised when they exclude us. Just some food for thought, I'd be more than happy to hear what you guys think in the comments.

So do skate boards but the trucks are metal and the metal clashes into the wood and tears the wood up... the BMX being heavier can fall through the wood IF the wood was weak enough beacause of the skate boards metal trucks litterally shredding the wood... thats why skaters always say "Lets shred" when they go riding LOL... and concrete though?!?!?!?! You seem like a reasonable guy, but your pegs everytime you fall pit the ground alot and cause divit and eventually holes in the concrete, and more often then not bikers are really rude. They trash our parks in Colorado the most and no one appreciates it. Keep in mind without skateboarding you wouldnt have those parks to enjoy at all for the time you get. So be grateful from that perspective.

My local skatepark has a no bikes policy, but there's also a sign that says no scooters. But cops and park workers don't care. They'll walk past a hundred kids on scooters to tell one biker that they need to go. I just wish that if rules are going to be implemented at a park, they need to ALL be followed, or ALL be broken/given lenience. So disappointing.

Well you were riding in a skateboard only park, it's very likely that someone will kick you out and you were indeed respectful about it. But I must say that the reason you got kicked out was so dumb... She could have simply stated that the park was only for skaters instead of "bikes destroy parks" bullshit. It's a shame that I see skaters who are disrespectful to BMX riders, often for no reason, because personally I think BMX is awesome and I wouldn't mind sharing a park with riders. So far I have not encountered any BMXs in a skatepark because we have none where I live, but treat me with respect, I shall do the same to you.

BMX will increase wear-and-tear on the skatepark but not to a degree that it significantly adds to maintenance costs. Skateboarders cause an acceptable amount of wear and tear. BMX advocates should be arguing that BMX does not significantly increase this anticipated deterioration, and that the increased activity at the park will ultimately create a more successful, inclusive public attraction

we have a skatepark in Västerås Sweden outside park. the idea was no scooters there only skateboard and bmx. but they didnt listen as a scooter kid with no brain cells its hard too understand. but now its a Little better, the disigners was from California and was most bowl and pool that no one is used to here in Västerås we are most street skaters like me but now its mixed. they will upgrade it in summer with more street and that is good for me.
