My grandfather carried a 38 webley as a deputy Sharif. I was so disappointed when he sold it to a stranger. I did eventually get a 38 enfield & 45 webley😊

Absolutely love the Mark IV. I've got a 1943 war-finish example in my collection and it's my absolute favorite. I've always preferred the Mark IV over the Mark VI specifically for those absolutely sick grips with the "Webley" name molded in.

Honestly, I wouldn't feel under-armed carrying the Webley mk IV today despite the rather "feeble" cartridge (though I'd still prefer the smaller mk III .38 for convenience).

The .38 Special is a longer case and more powerful. The British after WWI went from the proven Webley Mk VI .455 to the smaller caliber .38 S&W caliber using a 200 grain bullet originally. The bullet was changed to a 178 grain to improve performance.

6 shots, top break, .38, lanyard loop, da/sa, it's the peak handgun design and if you say the contrary you're objectively wrong. It's a shame they don't make them anymore
