Thanks for this video. The jury is still out for me on the editor. I'm still getting used to it but when I run into teething problems I wonder why I'm having to do this. Yes I've watched the video tutorials on how to use the new editor but it just makes me wonder why if something isn't broke why would anyone want to fix it.

Nearly a million downloads for WordPress "Classic Editor." GUI tip: don't hide everything, don't reduce screen working space, don't interject code into straight text for your "blocks," don't call a makeover that hides everything but changes nothing an "update."

I have a lot of problem with 5.0 ... my themify theme goes crazy ...can't post can't edit page ... I deleted WordPress database and I installed WordPress from hosting hoping this will solve the problems...but No ... I will try your solution

OMGGG I HATE THE NEW Wordpress UPDATE 5.0. WTH. I LOST THE NECTOR SHORTCODES option which gorgeously featured old blog posts in whatever category I wanted to display at the end of all posts. The new editor is a major failure lol!!! I installed the classic editor plugin and all is good. WHEW. (wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/) This is another fix to these great options you mentioned.

I use a template for posting - what I will normally do is select the old text and paste over it - boom! easy! Right? NOPE Guttenberg will ADD a block text BELOW what I had selected with my new text, then I would need to remove the old text box! - why would I be highlighting text to add a box below it??? thank you for letting me know about this plugin

I don't see how GUI page builders will survive Gutenberg ... The new editor is a milestone.

Unfortunately you can't use the plug-in fix unless you spring for WP's "business level" service at $3, $5, or $8 (depending on options) a month. If you can't use plug-ins you can select the "classic block" which works pretty much like the classic editor (although it did some funky things with my images). I'm disgusted with these people.

The new editor IS THE WORST EVER! Lots off irritating f blocks that disturbs the writing I HATE IT I found a plugin called Classic editor and that plugin took me back to the classic WP editor in one sekond USE IT

Lots of menus, sub menus and lots of hidden options under these menus are totally bad. Third party editors and page builders are way superior than Gutenberg. Beside this editor there is nothing new in V5. Same old confusing menus and lots of hidden configurations. I was hoping to see some refreshing ways to do things little simpler. WP5 still choking on normal web hosting sites, no performance boost and no optimization. Why even bother to call it WP5.... MAN SO BORING
