Nice to see more machines with enclosures. These recent wave of blue laser diode machines are very impressive. They are intruding well into the wood and acrylic cutting capabilities of higher powered co2 laser systems. The Z system in this machine is pretty neat and allows for a compact design.

Thanks for a great and thorough review - I wasn't actually looking to replace my small hobby engraver, but this actually looks interesting, and would provide me with a lot of new opportunities...

speaking of laser engravers, have you ever considered reviewing fume extractors? Plenty of us would be interested, especially because they can be connected to 3D printers as well, which is obviously a must during ABS etc prints

I work in and build clean rooms for a major government contractor. HEPA filters are a major component as well as calculating air flows, air exchanges per minute, particulate capture, etc. my concern is that too many laser owners think the in-room filter assemblies are as good as removing the contaminants out of your space via axial suction exhaust fans. They are not. Once exposed to particulate (smoke) they will rapidly lose their filtering efficiency while their operator is clueless that there is even an issue. Even tiny amounts of contagions are bad for humans and pets. Buyer beware. Don’t believe all of the false claims that manufacturers claim in order to sell their products.

100% agree, the market is rife with scams - Another good example are many cheap & popular "soldering fume extractors", with a wafer thin layer of sponge that's been painted black and you can bet it never seen activated carbon. And of course not even a HEPA imitation has been added @@RichardBoisclair-hw6nb

Thanks for the excellent review. Acmer P3 looks like a good competing machine for the WeCreat. Will you be reviewing?

You did a great job, but I'm not sure what help reviewing a prototype is for someone considering whether to buy a finished product. Some parts may be improved in the finished version, some parts may get cost down beyond an acceptable level.

I still have the parts to build a LinuxCNC 80W CO2 laser cutter and engraver that I designed to build from scratch, but the product that used the laser is now 3D printed so that project fell by the wayside. These new solid state laser diode machines are very attractive, with much lower cost and maintenance than CO2 lasers. I particularly liked the full enclosure with nesting Z axis but I wish it had Linux software.

Nice review! HD Camera alignment...great feature, unlike the disappointing xTool S1 that has a cumbersome, slow and time consuming 2-point positioning system.

I didnt know i need a laser machine. Now i want one.

can this machine do 3d or 2.5d engraving?

just wish they would be able to make these desk top cut 3mm steel.

Hi! Do you think the XTOOL S1 is worth the higher price?

I have another video for the S1, please watch it and you will see the difference when making the same jobs on both machines.

Yes, they are 4 Nema 17.

Hello Aurora. I have just ordered the Xtool S1 laser engraved with a 20w diode and a 2w IR laser. I also orders a riser bed and rotary tool. I got a early bird price for this. I haven’t got it delivered yet. I wondered if you have tested it since you have tested different Xtool machines in the past? I’m curious about your thoughts about it. Have a wonderful day from Norway 🇳🇴 😊

Yes, I will also review the S1 in November.

The only problem is my machine arrived defective and the rotary tool won't work at all. No one in support is addressing that issue. They just want to go to different issues with the same failed machine. Maybe, just maybe, the company can let those of us with failed machines and lack of customer support to do a review. Oh, and people need to make sure that they follow some simple other rules before they do other things before they allow the machine to close.

so what are you going to do with the machine, send it back for another or see about fixing it yourself?
