Tracy, thank you so much for being willing to share your ideas and wisdom. I really like your process of providing your kids with a set amount of money that is the same for each child and then letting them be adults and decide how they want to spend it. It seems this would help them start to learn budgeting, and think about their goals when they are determining how to spend the money.

Thank you so much for sharing your family with us! I love how you emphasize that your daughters (and their partners) choose what THEY want because it's their wedding- makes complete sense! My husband and I had a tiny living room wedding at my parents' home during Covid that was planned in 5 days- and I had a 5 week old baby LOL! It was lovely to have an intimate celebration, made even more special by our daughters being in attendance. Best wishes to Carly and Jackson as they start their lives together!

I am looking forward to the diet video tomorrow ! I have gone from 300 to 175 lbs. I am not done but i am close and i enjoy the new content for motivation even though i know its consistency not motivation that gets the job done! One of of things i love about you is you actually say restriction is required. Very few people will say that on social media or even offline. Restrictions afe required to lose 125 lbs like i have but for some reason its not ok to say so! Thank you for normalizing the reality.

Thank you for this great video, Tracy, and being so honest about everything (and even addressing the tough questions!). I love and admire your attitude where you really let the kids drive their own decisions and that you calibrate yourself according to them as all of your children would be different and unique in their own way. You are an amazing mother and your girls are lucky to have you in their life. Raising 5 daughters isn't easy. I know that so much more now as I have 2 little ones of my own and as moms we always want the best for our children. Can't wait to see the full pictures of the knit dress. This indigo color looks amazing on you!

Good morning Tracy, as you suggested I’m commenting here on KZbin instead of Instagram but my comment is to say Amen to your insta message this am; about how we take take of ourselves showing up 1st in our looks then in our physical condition! I have witnessed this my whole career as a PT (and for past decade in my in laws and mom) and has definitely been a motivator for me to take care of myself (and not wanting to spend my valuable time and money on specialists!) Great message! Interesting too that I’m sure how the women (especially) took care of themselves may be a factor in who shows up for my upcoming 40th high school reunion. Thank you for this message; no one tells it like you!
@katherinesarra364 Жыл бұрын
Also, when you suggest commenting on KZbin rather than insta; should we just pick any [current] video to comment on even if it’s related to an Instagram story/message? (Like I did today)

Thank you for weighing in, Katherine! Yes, we cannot coax anyone into taking care of their health. They have to want it. All we can do is see it as a reminder of how we don't want to age. As for selecting a video to leave your comment, it does not matter which video you choose. I have my commenting set up where they appear in order of being sent. So, even if it's a video from three years ago, the most recent comments will appear. I spend very little time on my phone. Most of my workday is spent on my laptop. I only access Instagram on my phone. So I only get to DM's occasionally. I only access KZbin on my laptop and check comments 1-2 times daily, so nothing gets missed.

This was a great video Tracy, per usual. It’s interesting to see the difference between daughters, and their weddings. When marriage is modeled as so much more than one day’s celebration, it allows them to truly choose. I imagine you and Paul have instilled what a true marriage is, and not having a big wedding simply for the validation. Big weddings are great if thats what you want, but a small and intimate wedding can be beautiful too. 💕

Tracy, I don’t know where to start. All I can say that you dazzled me with your answers and explanations you gave. I’m now 73. I really wish I have had at least halve of your knowledge when I was bringing my kids, even the granddaughters I have, now they are 23 and 16. Your “silver tongue” is beautiful. Congratulations on your 3 daughters being married. Wish I could say more but I don’t want to take so much of your time. I’m going to Instagram now to see the wedding ❤

I couldn't wait for this video to publish. Thank you for being so open about your answers. Carly and Jackson had a beautiful wedding. Also, if you can tell Carly to sing me one song on the piano... Mine by Kelly Clarkson. As soon as I heard that song I immediately thought of Carly and thought she'd kill this song!

Loved this Tracy! to the lady who left the quite frankly rude comment, I am an only child and will be given no money towards my wedding or anything in life from either of my parents and I would never expect it, it’s “my” wedding and therefore funded my me. Any gift would be a bonus but my mum has zero savings for herself let alone to give towards her daughters wedding 🤣 it definitely doesn’t make me feel any way towards her so it must be in your own mindset and having no resent in life towards people x

I wish I had asked now about wedding gifts and rehearsal dinners? Just curious! Did you give the couple a wedding gift and if there were rehearsal dinners, was that the groom’s parents? Etiquette has changed so much. I don’t even know if rehearsal dinners are a thing? Your daughter’s wedding looked beautiful!
@TracyHensel Жыл бұрын
Hi Cathy! The $8,000 is our gift for our daughters (and their future husband) to spend however they want. Paul and I do not gift anything above that and their one shower (budget of $2,000). We do not cover Rehearsal dinners if they choose to have one, but they can use their $8,000 towards that or whatever they desire. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough in the video.

Hi Tracy 👋 just a couple of frank questions for you, oddities i noticed. A few of your answers here just don't correlate with other statements you've made in the past. In one video you say you "dont come from a family with drama" but have admitted to considerable drama with your mom here and there. Why the story inconsistency? 2. I think you assumed Jackson's parents were fine with everything, am I correct in that? How would you know otherwise? I'd be peeved if I had offered help in setting up my son's wedding and the other family said they "had enough help." Excuse me? Its my sons wedding, my "help" comes first, I'd like to be apart of it!! You cut them out of that special part of the day. (Why hosting is so muddy) I wouldnt say anything to you as Carlys inlaws, but I'd think that was incredibly ignorant. Its my sons wedding and i should be included, regardless of the venue. I truly have to assume you arent sure what his parents feel, clearly? I'm sorry to hear this was your response to his parents. Thanks, Elena
@TracyHensel Жыл бұрын
Hello Elena. It makes sense you would be confused, considering your perception is skewed. Perhaps you took something I shared and misunderstood or created your own story. It’s easy to happen when you’re getting only a fragment of my or any content creator's life. No, my mom and I have no drama between us. Nor have we ever. I shared this in this video, as well as other videos. And Jackson’s family were relieved that we didn’t need their help the day of the wedding, considering some personal responsibilities in their life. How nice of them to offer, considering their limitations that day. We were grateful, as were they. I hope this clears up any confusion. If you have a lot of drama in your life, it may be hard to believe that living a drama-free life is possible, but it ABSOLUTELY IS possible.
@moniapadme Жыл бұрын
Elena, I disagree with you. You caught yourself in your own trap. You said Tracy assumed something about the other parents and yet here you are assuming about them that they would be peeved just because you would be if you were them. Well, the fact is we are all different. You would react in this situation certain way but it doesn't mean everyone follows the same pattern. For instance I'd be happy not to help a lot in my children weddings if I didn't have to. Too much stress for me. The other thing is that very often people offer their help practically last minute, a day before event when everything is already organized and people were already assigned to do different tasks because it had to be done ahead. Then you have those people who suddenly pop up saying they would help. To me that's a bit rude if we need to find rudeness somewhere. Everything is already done and a host has literally "enough help". You should have reached out weeks ago, if you truly want to help.
