Seamstress here. The first dress, if done properly would have been WAY more than $1750 as a custom piece. The amount of time that goes into placing those jewels, not to mention the cost of quality stones, as well as the work that it takes to get the measurements as perfect as they need to be.

I agree, this girl said that 1750$ is the price of a designer dress clearly she hasn’t seen any designer dress in her life. But as for me, my family used to own a fabric stores, my aunt knew many seamstresses. She used to have my friend bridesmaids’ dresses done for 50$ per dress (in Vietnam, my home country) and looked like high quality dresses (with jewels in 2012). Yes, custom made dresses can be good and cheap if you know where to go.

I wish more people understood that if someone is really going hard on their Internet business the chances of it actually being a legit, full blown business are slim. These people are encouraged to have hobbies that they make into businesses because everybody’s scared of a 9 to 5 most of them know nothing about business The structure, things that go into a business behind the scenes work you have to do, layers you need to have in place the list literally goes on. This is so weird bc did they not sign formal contracts? I thought that was standard procedure when buying custom stuff. Maybe im mistaken but with formal contracts, they should be able to sue and win. Even if they didnt have a formal contract im pretty sure theyd have an easy case. If I can remember her name I’ll make sure I edit this comment to include her handle but I see videos from a seamstress who often fixes dresses that don’t come as advertised (often prom dresses or formal event dresses), she always does wonderful work but also explains how easy it is to be scammed online in relation to fashion! Many many sketchy brands or companies will steal photos of EXPENSIVE, designer dresses to use for their marketing, and then send you their version that was made for thousands less and it shows in every aspect of the garment. Such a cheap trick, people buy these kinds of dresses for important events and it’s so low to promise them something they’ll never actually receive while still charging what is a substantial amount of money to most people
