This kind of vid makes me realise I've yet such a long way to go. Introvert or not, we can feel how comfortable you are switching locations and posing them. I'm amazed by the fast pace of the shoot, I guess it comes from many years of experience. Great energy and pictures, they must have had a great experience ! Hope one day I'll be able to be that friendly & energetic during my sessions :)

I need to get back to this kind of simplistic shooting for engagement sessions. Lately I’ve been shooting with multiple studio strobes (Profoto B10) and softboxes and magmod equipment. It’s so hard strolling all that equipment to a shoot. These images are fantastic and all done with natural light and one lens!!

I normally shoot like this with my couples but i need a whole week break away from ppl and avoid talking to people after wards cause im so tired and burnt out from all the talking and energy used interacting with couples /models and thinking and feeling like they didnt enjoy the session... do you go over these internal battles in your patrion videos ?

Are we related! You literally just described me!

@@MotifBeatz I hope you can learn to overcome it, bro.. what helped me was meditation and journaling, and practicing gratitude. it's still a challenge that comes up depending on what's going on with my discipline that week but if I eat well, sleep well, exercise, and meditate. then I have a better chance of overcoming my rumination and over-analyzing on these fears and negative thoughts

Just watched this and was inspiring in the way that i had and have to some extent the same "problem" you had regarding being somewhat of an introvert. Of course as you shoot more and more you tend to get more relaxed, but i can still have those days were i just feel off and awkward and i really have to sort of collect myself to enjoy the process. And sometimes it feels very natural. Also im a bit unsure still about how to use my lighting gear and rely more on my feeling than gear and technique even though i have everything i need when it comes to equipment. So when having to think too much on what flashes etc i need to get the best result i can somewhat feel a bit insecure instead of just decide quickly and go with it. So always great watching others having some of the same insecurities. Another thing, saw in a clip there you were using something that looked like the Leica Q or Q2, one of my favorite cameras to use, and actually used mine at a wedding a couple of years ago and was great. Do you use yours if that was it a lot? /Martin.

One thing I've always struggled with is using the surroundings on a shoot - how much looking around/recon of these locations did you do prior to the shoot? Or is it a learned skill to go for a walk with a couple and whenever you see an opportunistic composition, take it? Another great vid Taylor :)
