Wedding stories are so fun! I actually didn’t get my dress until a little over a week before my wedding. I searched and searched and could not find “the one” until then. The best tip in this video is to go all out on your photographer! Seriously the best investment, since it truly is what makes up your memories.

We let it get too hot at the reception and didn't get enough photos of just my husband and I but other than that, I loved it all! We let the guests choose one of 3 cake options they make predecorated at Costco and then had a small cutting cake. It worked out great and was SO cheap. We also did our own flowers. It was a lot of work but not overly complicated. I got my dress on sale because I guess someone had it altered and then didn't want it- fit perfectly.

So fun to look back on your wedding! I focused on the things people would remember which was the food and the entertainment. I wish I would have told my photographer to do specific pics because I didn’t get shots of the ceremony space and the reception space and I diy’d a lot. I loved my dress, my hair, my husbands tux. I had lots of fun!

My beautiful korean sister!! Your wedding is gorgeous! I got married in 2004 in Colorado Springs at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel. Look it up! The mountains in the background was amazing. My hubby graduated on a Wednesday and we got married on THAT Saturday!! My wedding itself cost me less than $8k! My honeymoon back home to Hawaii was less than $2k!!! I only had 20 ppl at my wedding:) If I could have changed anything I would have gotten a different DJ, better photographer and wish I could have afforded a videographer:( My colors were Rose pink and Champagne Gold. I had a summer wedding in June 2004:) Hubby and I are planning a renewal vow ceremony for our 20-25 year anniversary:) We celebrate our 15th this summer!! I love your wedding album!! My wedding was shot with (the last one) 35mm film!! Weddings DO go so fast!!! I wish I could relive it!!

I actually got my dress 3 months before my wedding, same with my sister. You do not need to get a dress a year in advance...I think that’s one of the biggest wedding myths people believe
@leighfei5 жыл бұрын
Some companies take a long time to make the dress

Leah Feigen-Bookstaber I know. My point was that it’s actually very possible to find a dress in a short time. Everyone always says “you HAVE to get your dress a year in advance”, making it seem like it’s impossible to find a dress if you don’t get it a year ahead. But there are plenty of shops where it’s possible to get your dress way closer to your wedding date than a year

Wedding chats are so fun! I just got married on 04/12 and if there's anything I wish I would have done differently would be to delegate out some more tasks. I took on a lot of it myself and it got pretty stressful at times! Also, be sure to have a more type A personality for your day-of-coordinator. Mine was a very type B personality and was also a friend of one of my guests so she got pretty distracted at some points and slacked on her duties. It all went well, but it goes by quickly! Hope you enjoy yourself during this fun process Anna!!

about getting a sample sale dress or a dress off the rack, be careful doing this if youre doing it to save money. Alterations are SO expensive on wedding dresses. it might be cheaper to go with a dress that already mostly fits you and just have a few alterations than one thats cheap and have a tons of alterations. learned this the hard way.

We heard from many friends that they never got to have their honeymoon at all or to where they want it because they spent too much money on their wedding. So we chose to get married in Santorini, it's a very small wedding but we got to have our honeymoon right after, it's the best decision ever. We invested our money in hiring a very good photographer, because we have those pictures forever, it's worth it. And I only spent about $150 for my dress because I will never wear that dress again, I just shouldn't spend so much money on, I got it when it was on sale on bhldn.

Sorry but I disagree! More power to you if you were able to but I don’t personally have the budget to do this for mine, so before asking them to be my bridesmaids, I asked if they would mind paying for their dress at the time of choosing. They didn’t mind, but also I’m being super flexible on the styles for each as they are different body shapes. Also not being unreasonable and expecting them to wear a dress above £100. We can’t all afford it!

I'm a wedding photographer but I find it interesting that you paid for your bridesmaids dresses! It's a nice gesture but could be out of budget for most. I find a lot of wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses on Poshmark -- that could come in handy if theirs a color scheme vs everyone wearing the same dress. I purchased one gown for like $50 or so and washed it myself on a gentle cycle and treated a few stains with dish detergent. Not sure what I'll do with it but if I need to style a shoot I'm ready lol.

You guys have obviously never heard of Armenians or Armenian owned banquet halls. Armenians are partiers and owners of these beautifully decorated venues know that. So parties go on until 1am-2am and sometimes even longer and it is no problemo. This is especially true in Los Angeles. Not too sure about other places but check out middle-eastern owned places and I'm 100% sure it will be no problem because middle-eastern people like to party too!

Woah. I cannot afford to pay for all 6 of my bridesmaids' dresses. But I understand not wanting to make them shell out the big bucks. I'm a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding and my dress was under $100 (before alterations), but I'm trying to be mindful for my own wedding and pick a dress that can be worn again.

What is the point of a rehursal dinner? We don't have them here and they sound bizarre to me. Why would anyone want to host an event the night before their wedding day? Why spend more money? Why do something that's tiresome when you're about to have a HUGE day the next day? And what is a welcome dinner?

wow...felt a little put down about the paying for you bridesmaids dresses. this is why bridesmaid's proposals are a thing cos god forbid your friends dish out 50-100 on a bridesmaid dress for YOUR wedding. If i had the money, i would pay for it but its seriously not in the budget...im working with we can afford and paying $400 for bridesmaids dresses when my friends are fully able to and agreed to should not be shamed. I have given the color i wanted and thats it. they can go find the dress they want, wherever they want. They can do that for me and ill do that for them on their wedding day. I find so funny to me that the bride and groom have to dish out money left and right in order to celebrate themselves. Why cant guests, family and friends throw them a wedding? Its so weird to me.
