I cannot believe how they turned it around. Decluttering and organising the home on it's own is a massive stress. Then you've got that financial planning on top. Kudos to them for pulling it all out the bag and getting on top. Their attitudes in the opening story had me in disbelief!

My aunt and my uncle are like this. Starting a project, buying crazy stuff, ignoring the bills and they still here but now that they are older the stress of not having anything saved and be retired with debt is huge. In another show Gail said that money for entertainment is necessary, otherwise people lose it and fail. People need some pleasure and outlet but it has to be according to their budget. It might be taking a walk and get ice cream once. Or renting a movie on demand, you make your popcorn at home and invite friends or not. Doing a potluck with friends and playing board games.

@@peanutsassyathena This show somewhere in the early mid 2000's. the 2008-09 recession less severe in Canada than in most other advanced economies, but also the recovery in Canada was stronger. @drewconway71352 жыл бұрын
@@peanutsassyathena No, we don’t know that. An 8% CAGR is achievable over the long run, on average. In Canada, financial stocks pay dividends of around 4%, on average, and have had fantastic share appreciation. In the US, where I live, I earn on average 12% a year, mostly from options, but even my equity holdings get me 9-10% per year, on average. That’s because I keep a stack of cash handy to buy dips, like the one we had a week ago when everybody was s--ting themselves over omicron. I made a killing.
