FRIENDS, I love This fucking guy. I am a mechanic and welder recovering from back surgery so just laying around being bored and stumbled across bucking Billy and I am hooked. I want to move out west and just drop timber. Seriously I just bought a vintage chain saw ready to cut some wood. I am from new jersey. I have never even touched a power saw before. Yes I called it a power saw not a chain saw

Good man showing that facecut. Too often I get fussy with chasing humbolts around the tree and changing my lay by a couple feet or more. In my case, where I’m out in the open, it’s not such a big deal unless I’m shooting between two trees, but in residential situations an inch can be a disaster.

My grandfather had a wench truck in the 50's, so when we would cut leaning trees he would set us up with a chained off tree to be sure it would fall a given direction. His methods aren't what you see these days. He was known for chaining a tree so that it would fall toward the lean then swing around to a safe area. I was young when he was showing off these skills.

i do a similar thing with Buick Outdoors and give back to kids to get them outdoors. Nothing major but ive sponsored fishing derbys and every kid got a ice fishing rod and tackle. I always have a extra kind of cheap fishing rod and some tackle in a small tackle box with me and if i see a kid with broken gear or they dont have any gear at all, i give them the rod and tackle. it doesnt cost much and it makes you feel pretty good seeing how happy the kids get when they have their own equipment.

I’m with you on the bore cut. Just more to go wrong. Maybe on a real hard lean on a potential barber chair, or when you’re logging white oak or something and the center is really tearing out, then it might make sense, but in general I like your philosophy. Just use basic undercuts and wedges.
