When Wednesday commented that she wished she cared a little more about what people think, my takeaway from that scene is that Wednesday knows she _should_ and is _supposed to_ care about people's feelings more, yet finds herself being built differently in that regard. As such, looking out for people's emotions and feelings doesn't come naturally to her and they are thus something she struggles to notice. Which is a challenge faced by some people with neurodivergent traits that results in them having difficulty fitting in with others.

The more I think on it, the more I think the Werewolves, Sirens and Gorgons are in some way pure metaphors for issues we begin to confront in puberty. Will we become valued members of a pack? Can we control our bodies? How can we be sure of how people really feel about us? Or how we feel about them? I am hoping the vampires somehow figure into all this for season 2.
@JameZayer2 жыл бұрын
Parasitic nature of a vampire relationship, using a person for what they bring to the table instead of valuing them as a person. Like using a person for their blood to sustain a vampire, you can "use" a person for their connections, status or namesake.

100% agree about the school dance thing. In my four years of high school, I missed one formal because I was supposed to go with the girl I was seeing, and that relationship fell apart a few days before the dance, and I went to two with dates and it was pretty stressful and awkward both times. Finally, my senior year, I went with my best friend, and she and I both had a blast. 🙂

16:17 Not a Carrie moment for Wednesday. More evocative of a Blade (1998) moment for her, when the sprinkler system sprays blood on everyone at the rave and most everyone is revealed to be a vampire.
@Cau_No2 жыл бұрын
She mentions "They couldn't spring real pig's blood". That's a clear reference to Carrie at the prom. It's doubtful the vampire's party at Blade used the same type of blood …

Not sure if you caught the phone call the sheriff was having. An abandoned house is having lights come on. Thanks to catching that the next episode I was on to who the murderer was. The foot bitten from the leg but toes surgically removed. Does that mean the monster kills in its form then afterwards cuts the body or is the monster biting and killing and someone else is doing the cutting? Now, Eugene was wearing several layers and a thick coat so he could still be alive, yes some flesh cut, but the clothing may have taken the brunt of it. The love triangle- yeah that only exist in the boys minds. Wednesday is not needing that, it is good she’s getting some romance but she’s still high school student homework and friends are enough drama as it is even more so when there is a killer on the loose. Add in that both boys clearly have daddy issues. One’s dad wont talk about the mother and the other has a dad who is famous and most likely doesn’t talk to his son. I do think Tyler should’ve apologized to Xavier for the mural especially as the normies are showing they are more the villains than the outcasts. Yes it was foolish kid stuff but if you want to show you arent a bad person you have to face your actions and Tyler clearly hasn’t done that. I do hope Wednesday doesn’t end up with either boy because neither are good for her. The kid from the summer camp was a better match for her. Maybe Xavier might be a match, but I have a feeling we will have to see him develop some more. Tyler eh that scene of him saying Wednesday is sending signals when it is clear she hasn’t just doesn’t feel right. And he is almost too good to be true.

Maybe I'm wrong but it sounds like your pronouncing Xavier like Ex-Za-vi-er when in English X is typically only pronounced like Ex when hyphenated like X-ray (your way would be like pronouncing Knock like Ka-Nock. It should I believe be pronounced Za-vi-er. Sorry, for being a Nazi about it but I've heard not just you but a few reactors doing the same and it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

So Jess finally got to watch THAT SCENE. I watched Wednesday during the weekend of Thanksgiving and that scene was copied endlessly on TikTok. Jenna choreographed that dance by watching goth folks dancing in night clubs during the 80s. It's perfect. That's how I'd imagine Wednesday would dance like. I'm not the biggest fan of Wednesday having any romantic entanglements. I'm not on Team Tyler or Team Xavier. IRL, Jenna and the actor who portrays Xavier are very good friends and are making another movie together. But I prefer Wednesday just being left alone. I saw no real chemistry with either one of those boys. Wednesday is popular by not wanting to be popular. That, and she's hilariously morbid and a psychopath. There was different directors for this series. Tim Burton directed most but not all. You'll feel some fragmentation at the end. But overall, I enjoyed this series and hope we get a Season 2. I enjoyed this series more than Stranger Things 4 because I'm already familiar with the characters and Wednesday has always been my favorite Addams. She's such a cool character by not trying hard to act cool. I'm in love with Jenna's portrayal as Wednesday. I actually think she's superior to Ricci's. Re-watch the 90s movies and it hasn't aged well. Now in terms of beauty, look up Lisa Loring. She's too old now but back in her 20s and 30s, she was dynamite. She grew up to be beautiful and I hope she makes a small cameo in S2. Jenna nailed that dance move that Lisa Loring turned into a meme.
@wikidclownchris2 жыл бұрын
As someone who was born in the 90’s Ricci will in my eyes be the best Wednesday. It would be cool if they did manage to get Lisa Loring for a cameo next season and if they get all 3 to be in a scene together I really liked this show and binged it all at once so now I’m just reliving it by watching multiple reactions.

Eugene will get ignored until he’s well off in his 30’s then the girls his age that ignored him to play with the bad boys will suddenly realise they are running out of time for a hubby and kids. One will baby trap him, claim it’s love. The first child may even be his any others will be from one or several of her loves she’s cheating on him with.
