MVDP didn’t say he was racing in Z2. The comment was about his training up to his cyclocross racing season. He said he hadn’t done a lot of high intensity intervals as he has in the past leading up to racing.

Re. Wout and MVdP dropping in and out of CX the sport should just “take the win” as they say and be glad of the extra attention. It is similar to the Caitlin Clark effect on the WNBA of when Tiger came on the scene in golf. They are stars and make the events special.
