I agree: Snotlout in the movies is absolutely useless. But Snotlout in RTTE is actually pretty interesting and proves himself more than once. Same goes for Ruff and Tuff. The series had more time to expand upon their characters as well as give them the spotlight in order to show their strong points (theyre still probably lower than the others though)

While I personally don't agree with some of the rankings, this video was very well put together. Also the red death CAN control dragons, it just might not be to a greater extremity as the bewilderbeast species. Also if you do end up making another tier list, some dragons will definitely change your mind of how powerful or smart they are on the tier list. It would also be cool if you considered looking into the HTTYD games dragons species as a tier list as they feature dragons that are unfortunately not seen in the movies or only get a cameo.

Toothless was 1. distracted, and 2. tired from the poison dart. He also holds back as evident by the speed stinger arena episode. He didn't go for the kill but when he tried it was over in 5 sec. He tries agianst the red death, tries agianst The bewilderbeast. And as try I mean go for the strongest blast and speed possible. He holds back agianst most dragons because they are being controlled and he understands that and wants to help. Just like hiccup

Deadly Natter is stronger in a fight due to its Spines, agility and quick thinking but a Gronkle is much more tougher. If you caught a Natter off guard you could kill it, if you caught a Gronkle off guard you would greatly injure it but it could still kill you.

Tier above Alpha: Unstoppables, Dragons that require either powerful environment effects, large groups of dragons, dragons that evolved to hunt them, or a poison or dragon root wound to take down Bottom of the tier is going to be the shell fire, who is able to fire mighty artillery like charges, easily capable of devastating islands like dragon's edge. Right above the Shellfire is the Submaripper, a incredibly powerful dragon able to overpower a shell fire, and create massive whirlpools capable of drawing most anything into its mouth Right above the Submaripper is the Dramillion. The dramillion is powerful, and can copy any dragon's shots. Titan wing dramillions can also camouflage like changewings One step above Dramillions are Singetails, Dragons even toothless had trouble dealing with. They are able to devastate most any non-dragon proof structure, and have only 1 natural predator Right above Singetails is Dagur's Skrill, who i will refer to as Skrill. Skrill is a strike class dragon with the ability to channel lightning and redirect it. While in a electric storm, it has a infinite amount of shots. Water is able to nullify its abilities. Skrill was able to take down 4 dragon riders. Skrill was also able to send a roughly 2600 pound deadly nadder flying with a flick of its head. This dragon was able to keep up with toothless, and forced Hiccup to lure it to Dagur to take it down. Skrill was able to break out of a dragon proof cage, showing its sheer power. Skrill's lightning blast can only be met with a plasma blast from toothless. Toothless' plasma blasts have shown to not be able to phase it for very long, even on a direct hit. Skrill can also ride lightning, allowing it to near instantly move out of the way of incoming attacks. Skrills also are able to nullify singetail blasts At the top of this tier is the Screaming Death, a unstoppable, island eating beast that has completely impenetrable scales. A Screaming Death's scales are completely indestructible. The screaming death is able to fire fire blasts at full auto, and appears to have virtually no shot limit. The screaming death never stops growing, and was able to keep up with toothless. It took boulders on its wings, or a entire herd of gronkles, to get this beast to leave. It is able to fire tail spines like a nadder, and has amazing armor.

When consider the series, than: Snotlout would be in Viking bc he is casualy defeating many adults (he could fight together toe to toe together with Dagur, who is arguably the best human fighter in the entire series) Hiccup and Astrid in Mid dragon And Gobber in Mid Dragon (probably above Monster nightmer bc he scales to hookfang and he was fighting him when holding back) It's probably Hiccup>Gobber>/=Astrid Hiccup kinda won in their match and later in the fight he lost (you can check this duel on youtube) But when consider he was holding back more than Astrid and he was using only his sword, than he probably wins 7/10 times. He also has shown the abilities to fight 1 vs 2 against high skilled assains (1 even was the best drago's servant with some crazy feats)

I have a feeling Shackjaws might be one of the dragons that hunters avoid. I mean electricity seems to be effective againt dragon proof metal, you cant just use the water trick on him like skrills, since they are tidal class dragons that use bio electricity. I know this is the movie ver, but if you do the series versions, the screaming death should be high. The only dragon toothless could not control and barely defeated. (In defenders of berk I believe they chased it away, then reunited it with its mother, and than in RTTE they used its scales to withstand dragon root arrows and it appeared in the final of RTTE. You could say it never got defeated?)

Well drako's bewilderbeast vs toothless was pretty inconclusive mainly the fact that the dragons were firing down at the bewilderbeast and once toothless sent his final shot the bewilderbeast was already damaged from the blasts and all that and he still faced it only losing a tusk and that firepower the dragons launched is comparable and even far surpasses the red deaths firepower by a lot. I truly doubt in a proper alpha fight toothless can just blast a tusk right off from a single blast personally I think the battle depends on the situation and enviroment. Toothless is far more agile and faster and his breath is comparable or equal to the fire power of the bewilderbeasts but the bewilderbeast has superior raw strength jaw power and overall superior physical capabilities so it truly depends on the scenario.

the twins are def stronger then fishlegs if you look at the show, however all four of the runt tier are def accurate. i think the two dragons in the viking tier def need to go down a tier as while yes a terrible terror did defeat tuffnut in the first movie, all four of the runt tier can easily defeat one in the tv show. the other 4 in viking tier are all pretty much accurate. the rumblehorn is the only dragon that shouldnt be in the low dragon tier, as in the show they can easily destroy massive walls, towers and compleatly overpower other dragons, plus are stated to be extremly smart. all the remaining low dragons are accurate, plus zipplebacks should be in this tier and not in the next one. rumblehorns should be placed next to stoick but other then that perfect. everything above this tier is accurate.
