The 7% usage rate of volt absorb is made even funnier by the fact he had ZERO electric weak mons and in fact has an immunity lol

I think that's a good portion of the point. You see no reason for them to use that Ability and are likely to throw an Electric move at it since it'll still hit for decent neutral damage, something Electric is often used for-only to get tripped up, which affords the Kilowattrel team a moment of opportunity. If only there were a bulkier Volt Absorber with a more commonly used other Ability in SV to do this with so that the recovery would actually matter.

It's the safest ability it has. Yes you have a decent amount of Intimidate users (as shown in the video) that can proc Competitive and you could use tailwind to proc Wind Power. But Wind Power only charges the next Electric move and Competitive could be lost by a switch out/haze/clear smog/ect. That 7% rate works in your favor as well. People could be worried about Competitive and won't even try to lower your stats. You'd be surprised on how many people try to use an Electric move on Kilowattrel. I used Volt Absorb on mine with Tera Water. Worked pretty well.

All of the reasons _against_ using the Ability, including g the opportunity cost, lend credence to one's opponent's belief that it won't show up, which is what they're presumably trying to take advantage of. I'm not saying it's necessarily a good decision, but it's a line of thinking people do use.

Stantler is such an underrated support mon. Skill Swap Intimidate to activate Defiant and Competitive is delicious, and swapping Dancer around the battlefield like that is truly inspired
