I've actually seen some big snook swimming those trails. It killed me that I didn't have enough room to cast to them. One tip when going through those trails: if you have a breakable paddle, take it apart and use it like an oar. Since it gets so narrow in there, many times it's tough to use a full kayak paddle.

Thanks for the great videos Marty! This is one of my very favorite channels and I wind up learning a lot from you. You live in an area that looks like an absolute paradise (at least through your photography). My favorite part about your videos is you show us just how easy it actually is to just go fishing! I now bring several poles with me on the road and just find a local city pond or lake to fish after work. I have an inflatable pontoon with a frame but after watching your channel, I'm convinced the kayak seems to be the much better option. .

Weedon Island, that's my next of the woods. There are a lot of fishing pressure here as you saw for yourself by all the boats. Fishing can be hard, but the trails are a lot of fun and there are many friendly kayakers around. I remember the first time in the trail I had my 13' Ocean Kayak and navigating the trail was interesting at times lol Lots of bumps and scratches ;P
@twinbee13monsterhunter10 жыл бұрын
Cool trails! That look like a nice snook and red! The water was supper skinny and clear made the fish extra spooky! White bait or shrimp might of gotten them to bite. If no live bait try a gulp shrimp with a subtle presentation cast way in front of them and work it slow !

Definitely subscribing after this video. I've been planning a trip down to the Sarasota/Tampa Bay area to do some fishing and I'm wondering if you have any pointers for where to go in the beginning of February to catch something. Also if you know any cool spots to paddle the are in spring fed areas. I was hoping to go fishing near Chassahowitzka since it seems really beautiful there. Any pointers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Happy fishing and tight lines!

I've been watching your videos for a while now but haven't subscribed until today (just now) and this is the first video where I am going to disagree with you. With all the beauty you saw, and the fact that you backed out to not take away from the boater's fishing experience, to me, there is no way to call this getting skunked... Even with no fish on, I still wouldn't call it skunked. :) I will be getting a fishing kayak soon and will be doing a lot of freshwater fishing and if/when I learn to saltwater fish (I don't have a clue - 100% newbie) I might get to those areas. I have learned so much just watching your videos and I really appreciate all your videos! (especially the ice fishing in the hobie! ROFL!) Just for info - I have many hours in a sport kayak on floating trips, but none in a fishing kayak. I look forward to it. :)
