Rules of small lettering: 1- Assign a minimum text size: 4~4.5~5mm 2- Use 65/9 Needle, but 75/11 might do it 3- Switch to 60# wt Thread, but 40#wt might work 4- Reduce density to 45mm up to 55mm 5- Remove underlay or only use center run 6- minimum holes size in letters 0.8~1.0mm for knitted fabric 1.2~1.5mm 7- Remove overlaps, or minimize them 8- Remove trims as the text is too small to notice the jump stitches and it will save time. 9- text column size minimum 1.0~1.2mm, for knitted fabric 1.5mm or above. Thank you Romero for educating lesson. This week lesson is very crucial on mastering digitizing as small lettering need some rules to follow. Small lettering on knitted fabric is pain in the head. Thank you Romero 🙏🏻🌹❤️

Hi Romero, I enjoy your information. I just viewed the video on Small Lettering. I learned a lot. I work on Embrilliance. Do you have a suggestion where I can purchase small fonts that can be adjusted in ways you explained in the video.

Many people don't realize what pull compensation is. This will be very influential when making small embroidery. It will be seen when they make the letters E and I.

Totally love your lessons. with the 70/10 is that good for fabric like chiffon or silk ??
@RomeroThreads26 күн бұрын
Can be, with something that thin you have to match the backing with the amount of stitches on the design.

Hi Romero, thank you so much for your tutorials, i´m learning so much from them. Hi need your help, what kind of needle, thread and stabilizer do i need to use for satin fabrics? Big hug from azores Islands, Portugal :)
@RomeroThreads2 жыл бұрын
Satin fabric can be tricky. I would use 2 pieces of cutaway maybe a performance or a no show type. Thank you for the message.

Thank you Romero. I live in Australia and always look forward to your tutorials. I love detail and theory very helpful in everyway. Can I ask what material/textile do you generally use for sample stitch outs. Thank you
@RomeroThreads2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Generally for stitch out samples I like to sample on something thats similar to what I intend to embroider on. I have a bunch of different polos with different weight and feel. But if its just a normal sample, i'll use regular poly twill.

If i don't trim the all letters it doesn't look nice too. Also about the density if i use 0.40, i can see the gaps between satin stitches even if the letters are too small. It doesn't look smooth. Then i usually use 0.30. If i don't use the underlay, again i can see the gaps. If i use the underlay center run, the thread is puckering. Whatever I do it doesn't look perfect. Maybe I sould continue to try more alternatives. By the way i'm using 60w thread, 65/9 needle.

Are there times with smaller lettering where it is beneficial to shorten the stitch length?

Romero cómo estás , oiga le quería preguntar, porque cuando el file dst es guardad y lo vuelvo abrirlo todos los colores de los hilos no son los colores con los que guardé el file original, gracias.

@@RomeroThreads I’ll be attending! Quick question. I purchase 80/12 sharp needles, will these work ok for hats or should I move to 85?
@RomeroThreads Жыл бұрын
I meant to say 80/12 in the video. Yea, 80/12 is correct.

on your sample stitchout 60wt and 40wt did you change needle size or were they with same needle
@RomeroThreads2 жыл бұрын
I use needle 15 for 60 weight (black) and needle 10 for 40 weight (black). 2 different needles.

What if I have a design that has 10 colors but only 6 of them are available in 60#? Is it okay to mix the weight sizes in a single design?
@RomeroThreads2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. Run a sample to confirm.

Q: At 27:31… why does the “W” look obviously bigger and the “K” look obviously smaller than the rest of the lettering.
